I'm missing my honey so much!!! I haven't seen her since May 3rd 2007. God, this is the most trying times. Remembering the times together we shared, and planning for the future. Crying on the phone. Just wondering when we will be united again...and finally be together forever.....Is anyone else feeling this same way too? This does not mean that you are pathetic or desparate....okay?

Don't worry, there are plenty on VJ who feel that way, so you should have no trouble finding people to commiserate with.

Good luck.

Yep, I'm like that a lot today.

I started a new job and so I'm working 12 hour days...Nick has been out the past two nights and we haven't had a chance to talk a lot other than text message..I only heard his voice for like 45 minutes last night and I'm about to go to bed and he's still out :(

I haven't seen him in a month...It was a month from yesterday I was there.

I won't see him till the 21st of December....the longest we have gone in awhile.

Hang in there...all I'm doing is thinking of how much we love one another and the waiting and distance is so worth it.

Smile.

Hey Dennis,

It was nearly a year between the time I last saw my then fiancee and when she arrived here in the U.S. and it was a journey of destitute, patience and elation. Having a pretty accurate estimate of how long the process might take helped me out of lot. Our biggest frustrations and disappointments were early on when we estimated the best time scenarios for NOA2, interview, etc. Looking at the processing times of others here helped greatly. Even after she arrived here and the adjustment period that follows...I'd say keeping both people's expectations as realistic as possible will go a loooong way in alleviating the strain of the process. Hope that helps. :)

Steven,

Thank you!!! You really do know how I am feeling right now. You've been there, and done that. I guess I am really at a low point and needed to hear from someone who has gone through or going through this too. We talk on phone alot....but, it just isn't the same as being in person together. Anyway, thanks again!!!! I appreciate your sharing from experience, and your kindness.

We had some long stretches ourselves. We first met in person in Hong Kong January 2003, which was six months after we met online. Lai visited me in the US four months later. I filed the petition after she returned home. At the time, we'd thought the whole process would take about six months at most, but the CSC was getting progressively further behind. We didn't want to spend a lot of money on me taking another trip to Hong Kong, only to have Lai get her visa shortly after, meaning I'd have another trip right away to meet her there and fly back together. But as we rapidly approached a year from the last time we saw each other, we decided to schedule a trip. As it happened, Lai finally got her interview date, and we arranged my trip around that so I could be at the consulate with her. She got her visa the day after the interview. We needed time to plan for the wedding here, and the traditional reception in Hong Kong, so we decided that I would return to Hong Kong in fourteen weeks. That time, at least, we knew exactly when we would see each other again. The year long wait for the visa, however, was very stressful. We got through it with the help of calling each other two or more times a day, as well as lots of instant messaging.

We also had the SARS outbreak to add to our worries. That started in force just after I left Hong Kong the first time. For a few months, we worried we might not see each other again at all, if the worst happened; Hong Kong was essentially ground zero for SARS. I spent more time at the World Health Organization website tracking the SARS statistics than I later did at the USCIS site checking on our K-1 status.

Hang in there, you will get through this, and likely your relationship will be stronger for it :)

I have definite days like this. I don't get to see P as often as I'd like, but we definitely get to spend more time together than some here on VJ. For me the frustration is less about the visa right now, because we're waiting for him to finish his thesis. The separation sucks, regardless of the reason though.

Hang in there. I think it really does strengthen our relationships.

WoW!!!! Thank you for sharing your story. I have been to Hong Kong twice. But, never out of the airport. The airport there was the best that I've ever seen!!!! So clean...and well kept!!!! I would love to see more of that great city someday. Gosh, I'll bet your phone bills were like mine 400-500 dollars a month. My fiancees internet connection is always terrible. Thank God for long distance telephone. I work overtime now....to help with extra costs....But, I love my honey....must keep in touch as much as possible. You are so right....Our relationship is forever!!!! Thanks for sharing.... :)

I miss my husband so much it is draining my soul. I haven't seen him in almost 2 years. I never expected this journey to take so long. Our time apart has made us depressed. We dont go a day without calling each other. On my days off of work we spend the whole day togeather online. But this is not the same as being with him. He is giving up hope that he will ever get his visa. I will be leaving in 14 days to go spend 5 weeks with him  Who know's maybe even longer. When I'm there I think we will start to talk about PLAN B, Because the thought of coming back to the U.S alone and not knowing when he will get a visa is too much to handle.
