Hiya,

I've been going through some of the postings in here, and I'm so confused. I'll try to explain as cleas as I can. We filed for the K1 last Friday, and we got an e-mail confirming that papers were recieved in California last Monday.

Now, reading some of your postings, I see that petitions from April are now being processed? Is that right? Does this mean that our petition will have to wait some months before getting NOA1?

Sorry, but I'm so confused.

Thanks!

-Nineta

Hey Nineta,

As I see u've just started with your K-1, so I just wanted to wish all the best luck to you. :)

We sent our I-129F to California Service Center on Sept. 22, had no receipt and no news for over a month, called them 3 times, no help, they just said: if you don't get it in 90 days, call again... blah blah blah :(

So i started to freak out and made him call again until we got any kind of help. He called today, the first person said the same as 3 times before. After he got mad and called again, explained that we didn't even know if they got it, the nice lady asked for our names, checked and then said that our case had been put in the computer yesterday and the receipt was gonna be sent. :)))))

And btw, the USCIS webpage said that our case was supposed to be processed and receipts were supposed to be issued like 3 weeks ago. That's why i was worried that we were still without any news...

So get prepared to wait for a while before it gets processed, cause aparently California Service Center is a slowest one. :( It took us like a month and a half, so good luck to you :)

I support that "California Service Center is a slowest one" cuz I got the same thing happened no news, no contact, no letter until we called like many many times and got a receipt number as NOA1 so we can check the status online and it's frozen like over 4 months til present. still waiting for NOA2

but my friends who are June filers in Thailand, they all got NOA2 already. So maybe it means faster or slower it depends on how complicate of your case right?

That's what i thought, like depending on the case and stuff, who knows.... It's just so frustrating and stressful... :( But i'm sure at the end it's all gonna be worth the wait ;)

Thank you all so much.

Your not very promising news made me feel even more down. But I'll keep my fingers crossed hoping we get NOA1 soon.

This is not helping much. So hard!

-Nineta

It's hard not to feel down about this process, but try to stay positive. Join in some of the discussion in the regional forums, they're kind of fun and a nice distraction. Just take it one day at a time, live your life, and eventually it will be time to take that trip to the airport. :) Now if I could just take my own advice...

Please don't get too down about it  This IS a very hard process for anyone who goes through it, but it is definitely worth it; and you WILL make it. We started our journey in early April and almost 8 months later, have just today received our interview date for next week. There are a lot of days when it's impossible to be patient, and when distraction is the only solution. It's been some hard months for us but definitely oh so much worth it!!!!(L)

“Why do the righteous suffer?” someone asked C.S. Lewis. He replied: “They are the only ones that can handle it.”

our NOA1 took about 4 months to arrive, but it is relatively unimportant, as once the case is in the computer it makes no difference if you have the NOA1 or not! the NOA2 takes roughly 4-5 months from experience and CSC is very slow! but after the NOA2 arrived our interview was within a month, so after approval the process can be fairly quick! good luck with the whole process!
