It's been two to three months for quite a while. It fluctuates a little bit with workload and holidays. I've seen cases take as little as 6 weeks but 3 months is more common. You can check their current timelines for the most up to date NVC out to P3 times.

3 to 4 months is the standard for petitions to clear Chinese customs, and move through storage, before being received by the consulate.

The timelines here on VJ tells the story.

Just use K-1 advance, filter for China, and sort by consulate received, it consistently shows 3-4 months.

OK, I really wanted to know how long it takes for our package to get to Guangzhou.

So I called DHL to track it. Using the zip codes from NVC and GUZ. And the date the package was shipped.

4 business days!

OH! that is very fast. Should be in Guangzhou on Tues. Nov. 13.

BUT !

Then we have Customs to deal with. :crying:

This is where the hold up can take 2 weeks to 3 months.

Oh well! I was bored.

On with the waiting!

And praying! :innocent:

Chinese Customs is not a problem. Many packages sent to the Consulate are delivered right away. Sometimes there may even be petitions in those packages.

What GUZ does, is use the DHL warehouse for storage. They don't "gin up" the documents asking for the packages to clear customs until they're ready to receive and work them.

You asked about getting to the Consulate, not about getting to the DHL warehouse across the alley from the Consulate.

After Guangzhou puts there hands on our petition. How long does it take to process - interview?

I am estimating 1-2 months.

So that would be, NVC to Interview, about 5 months?

We are looking at maybe a March interview?

I want Yan to go ahead and fill out the forms for Packet 3. So that we can have a very quick turn around when we finally receive it from GUZ.

But the forms at http://guangzhou.usconsulate.gov/visa_packet_forms2.html are expired as of 7-31-2007.

Is there any other place to download these forms?

Packet 3 forms sent back to Guangzhou are DS-230 part 1, and OF-169.
