My husband recvd his approved I130 in June 2007. What is the next step or the next application. I heard that once the I130 is approved he has to wait for a visa#. is that true. Not sure if he will get something in the mail.

Anyone knows what usually happens after a approved I130??

Thanks

Visa number is immediately available for US citizens, spouses of US citizen fall under the Unlimited visa class.

Next step is I-130 will go to NVC for Department of state processing, and then on to the consulate for Visa interview.

Is there usually a time frame when USCIS is suppose to send something by mail that there is a visa# available & what it is ? Do they usually send something in the mail regarding a interview..

So there is a visa# already assigned to him?

He will get his packet 3 in the mail requesting the supporting documents :guides:. Since he is a spouse, the visa # is immediately there for him so don't worry about that. Begin gathering your documents and good luck morrita!!!!

Thank you very much... Usually how long does it take? This has been since June 07" & that was the receipt that he was approved of the I-130, nothing else after that. I heard it can take up to 3-7 years to hear from USCIS. I also heard that another application needs to be filled out but I dont know which one.

I didn't go through USCIS since I filed DCF in Canada (we were living there back then); but check out timelines in the Mexico forum; I'm sure you'll get lots of info.

For now, make sure you have un chingo of information like:

1. Birth certificate

2. Marriage/divorces certificates for both (of this one and previous ones in case there were any)

3. Proof of the marriage being the real deal (photos, letters, etc).

Again, :guides:, they are super useful.

Check the NVC Forum and get yourself familiar of all the pinned threads that may help you with the process. Tons of information on there and people are very helpful.
