If anyone has ever had a beignet in New Orleans- they cover them with 3 inches of powdered sugar. It is the one city you can walk around with a powdery white substance all over you and no one looks.

My family went there when I was 6 and to this day I still remember the beignets - soooo good...

Almost as good as the malasadas in Hawaii - the other donuts with no holes :)

Beignets!!! we love them!!

We bought some boxes of the mix back from our last trip and prepared them during one of our church functions. Everyone loved it and you can see the smiles through the white powder on the people's faces. :lol:
