I've flown Lufthansa and BA. I prefer Lufthansa. BA lost my luggage on my last trip. I got it returned to me but still. The thing about Lufthansa flights to Alex is that there's usually a long layover in Frankfurt. Mine was 14 hrs long.

I have flown British Airways both times I have gone to Alex. I do not think my bags were over limit and if they were they did not say. I have had people both in Alex and LAX ask me what is in both suit cases and I tell them, clothes. They look at me funny and I say well I will/was there for 2+ weeks and I am a girl LOL

I will be going back to Alex in Jan/Feb and it looks like I will have to fly Lufthansa. Has anyone flown them? If so how was it? I really liked British Airways but they do not have any flights to Alex scheduled at the moment.

By the way I sent my monthly email to Cairo and got the follwoing response:

Dear Madam:

Thank you for your e-mail message.

The status of the case is still the same. We will contact you once the administrative processing has been completed to notify you of the next step.

Regards,

Consular staff

24 here today lal :D

i bought a wool coat! and even FL is feeling the freeze -- it will be getting to 50 by Friday, and that dosent usually happen until January.

My homeowner's insurance has set me up for nonrenewal since the house will be vacant. I think we will have to think about selling it as hardly any insurance companies write policies here in FL anymore.

i expected that to occur. if you rent it out, it will be occupied.

i would be dropped *really* quick if I rented it out. My policy expires in July (so thats good) but I asked, what if the house is on the market and does not sell by July, hat happens? She indicated I would have to hunt for a dwelling policy, but back to the original issue of most companies wont write new policies here.

I flew Alitalia in July. They were ok considering they were the cheapest price around! They were late both ways but I had big wait times in Milan so I never missed my connection. I don't think I'd fly them again though only because the plane from Milan to Cairo made a funny sound in the motor. I kept waiting for it to go silent and then begin the steep descent into the ocean. lol.

Never paid attention to the weight of my bags but I think I had to pay the overcharge fee. I always have to pay that stupid fee 'cause i just pack way too much. I could swear there was people smoking in Milan at the airport though...maybe only a section is nonsmoking? Also you HAVE to get a cappucino or some sort of expresso there. You're in Italy after all and it was the best I had ever had!!! They also have awesome chairs in the place where you wait for your flight to egypt. They're lounge chairs that you can put your feet up on and they are so nice if you have a bad back. If I could have bought on and taken it home I would have!!!

turkey and celery sticks for lunch. whoo hoo. Nice thing about lowcarbin' it is that I'm not hungry at all though. Apparently I have GERD so I have started to take prilosec. Not as nauseous as I was the past two days thank God.

Ex has not taken the kids on a weekend in over two months and I'm going crazy. Other than that I'm fine. lol

I haven't called DOS in a while so I figured it was time. I got a very nice woman and she said right off the bat, "ma'am I'm showing that Cairo got back the results they were waiting for as of today and have now started the Administrative Review process."

I said, "was that the last step they were waiting for?" and she said, "that is what it looks like. according to the system they are starting to review the results of his case as of today and that is the final step"

<insert holding my breath smiley here>

I"m not going to do any dancing 'cause we all know the story but at least it was quite a promising conversation! I wonder if my congressman's office actually did something to get it going again? If so he's got MY vote next election!!!

Ahhhhhhh, Duh!

You know I am not into the holiday thing this year.

:lol: don't you remember making those in art class? I have about 12 of them on my fridge, some with feathers sticking out of them.
