Got back home last night. We actually have power and safe water, both of which are precious commodities in Houston at the moment! It smells rather damp in our apartment but we're blessed not to have suffered any damage apart from a leaky door and 2 leaky windows...

Sounds like it will be OK. Hang in there and be patient. If necessary we close of the rest of the house and run a single AC window unit to cool one room. The sooner you can get the AC going the sooner things will dry out. It is at times like these it is nice (IMHO) to be armed. I hope things are under control there in Houston. They got a little crazy in my neck of the woods after Ivan.

Thanks - all ok after returning to Houston except I've been in bed sick all week!! :( But I just got up and checked my email and found my GC is on its way.... wooHOO!!!! I am so happy - this is pretty good medicine I reckon :)

Things are just ducky! Turkey day tomorrow. Don't come here much any more. Sweetie and son received GC so we are done for the next 20 months. Hope you get your GC straightened out. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
