NVC timing seems nominal, divorced vjer reminder...

Hello all,

I called NVC today, its been 3 weeks since NOA2, spoke with an operator and he informed me that my case has been forwarded to VN on 10/30/2007. That's 10 working days, pretty good for the US Government.

Also, the operator was very kind and respectful which I didn't expect. I'm glad they are training them better in the state department.

On another note:

Oh, one other thing, for vjer's that were previously married, I noticed on quite a few posts, that blue slips were given for not having "proof of former spouse current address". Nip that problem in the bud now. Here are my suggestions: (Note: I am not a lawyer)

1) Make a simple pre-printed letter with microsoft word with similar format as below: (be sure to have them notarize it)

Proof of Former Spouse Current Address Document

To Whom It May Concern:

I, ___________, am the former spouse of__________,

Our divorce was finalized on_____________.

I currently reside at:

_____________________

USA

Signed: Date:

2) Do an online address search: (this option might be used if you do not have an amicable relationship with former spouse)

You have to pay about $13 and you can get former spouses name cross-referenced with utilities to get the address.

one vendor is called : Intelius but there are others.

3) You can always ask your former spouse for a copy of his/her electric bill. (I don't know if that's good enough)

anyway, I am happy that I am within 3-5 months until interview. (hopefully the former)
