I-134 'Poverty level' ?

Hello! A complete Newbie here---I hope to file the 129f within a few weeks for my ukrainian Fiancee.

I'm worried about the money thing----when they say you have to make 125% of the poverty level---what exactly does that mean? I'm self employed---is this gross income? What line on the form 1040 must equal 125% ? Any help greatly appreciated. So comforted to find a site like this! JB.

It is "gross" income, before any deductions.

125% above poverty level = If it's just going to be you and your wife, you need to be making at least $16,500 annually. - and that's before deductions.

I am in a similar situation, self employed, and what I found out is that it is your income shown on Schedule C(profit and loss). This # goes to line 12 on the 1040. Business income minus expenses.
