Aren't they supposed to be done together? Is there sometimes a lag with the step children, my wife's child? My wife got a NOA2 but my step child is still pending 3 weeks later....

Socalover,

You have submitted 2 package for them, therefore you got 2 notices, with 2 different numbers, USCIS works on one case at a time, and if you did not sent them same day, then the delay will be longer. Fill your timeline out, please. Here i have read also about the case of someone who's step child I 130 was approved but not the mother, in my case, the I 130 for my kids still not approved yet, because we sent them 3 months later. They also say they proceed in order they recieve them. Be patient, everything will be ok.

Best regards,

My wife and stepdaughter's I-130 were adjudicated together but because my stepdaughter's birth certificate was wrong at the time I didn't send one in along with the I-130 packet. My wife's I-130 along with her I-129f were both approved while my stepdaughter's I-130 was RFE'd on the same day (but during those months of waiting we had corrected the birth certificate). I just got approval for my stepdaughter yesterday, 8 weeks after the RFE. Don't know what type of visa you're applying for but I wasn't worried because the I-129f was moving forward anyway.

2 petitions that are filed together does not necessarily mean that they will be completed the same time. Each case when field separately, will be handled separately as well. It's just a matter of time and it will catch up with yours.
