Copy of ID?

Hi everyone,

My husband has been in AP now for 5 months. Casa called him to bring in a copy of his ID. Could we be near the end of our misery? He just left the copy and was told we'll contact you. They didn't give him a time frame for when they would be calling. Has anyone heard of Casa requesting a copy of an ID before? I'm going to call DOS when they open today to see what the status is on his case.

Thanks

Jen

Sounds like they are trying to tie up all the loose ends. No way to predict the time frame, but it does mean thay are working on it!

I'm happy to know that they are indeed working on it. We've waited this long and we'll continue to wait. LOL I know, we can't do anything about it. I just thought it was a strange request. I would have thought they would ask for it months ago if they really needed it. Oh well...........staying positive here!!!

Good for you on staying postive. If I were to guess I would suggest that n the security checks there were some false name hits (very common esp due to transliteration from Arabc to English) and the ID is to verfy hs identiy from the false hits. I wish I could say it means they are close to clearng everything, but who knows what Casa might have in line next.

For what t is worth- I thinkyou guys are doing the smart thing wth the Cr-1 visa..its a bit more dfficult and time consuming, but once its finished you are finished with USCIS pretty much.Good luck!
