We arrived in Montreal about 7:30pm Sunday, found a hotel, Maritime. Not the one I was looking for about at that point after driving 8 hours it did. The hotel was clean, cute, beds were like cardboard boxes! But for $130 a night it was alright. Parking underground was $15 a night..

We all showered, got dressed and went to the Bristo downstairs to get something to eat. I would not recommend that you eat there! I was up till 4:30 am sick as heck :(......

At 6 am the alarm went off and i was up, after sleeping only a few hours. Got ready, woke my daughter up and we were off walking. Took us about 20 mins walking, we stopped off at Tim Hortons, got her a BF sandwich. and she ate it as we walked the rest of the way. Got to the consulate and there was a lady ahead of us. So we were second in line. Then Lona and Tony were behind us by a couple mins. I actually remember seeing them in Timmys. I got into the joint ( lol ) without my interview letter  , went through security without a problem, but she was looking for a musical card ... Dont know!!!

Sat and waited to be brought upstairs, about 4 mins.. I was letter B, Get to window 9 , lady was not in a very good mood.

I was MISSING papers with bar codes ! duh , i dont know what i did with them but i didnt have them. So was told if the computer in the waiting room works i can use that. Went to the first pc and couldnt find what i needed. So i went looking for another one. Found it and started typing. finished in about 30 mins.. .and then had to find out where it printed off to!

as i walked away from the pc,i left my daughter to guard it , but a couple went right up to it.. so i raced back because all the work i did was still there incase it didnt print out.

FInally back to window 9, handed her all the paper work, and everything esle she asked for. Told to go sit back in the waiting room and she will call us back to do finger prints. I could hear numbers being called, so i went back to window 9 and asked if she will be calling us by name or number. CAlling my name.. Went and sat back down 20 mins or so. I was so tired and frustrated i just wanted it to be over with. Did our finger prints. about 10; 45 am our name was called to ROOM 7 , we got inside and swore to tell the truth and were out of there in about 5 mins. He asked when did we meet, when did we decide to get married, if i have ever been to the States, i sais yes, but i guess on some form i filed before i said never . So he got me to write how many times i have been there. He asked my daughter, where we are going to live once we get to the States, and if she has been there, Questions about her father, and when he died, he was interested in that Daymon does for a living and why he changed his job. They both do the same kind of work.! he was chit chatting a bit. and thats about it. AND THEN HE SAID WELL YOU ARE APPROVED ladies. Neeka was like YES with her hand actions, and he smiled and said good luck. We dropped all of our papers on the floor , so we had to pickem up and then we exited the ROOM 7 :)

congrtas!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
