Security checks

Hello everyone.

Does anyone know if the NVC performs security checks on applicant (IBIS, MANTIS and any other I may not know of) while the DS-230 forms are being processed?

Or

Does the Consulate/Embassy have these checks done AFTER the interview?

I worry that once my husband goes for his interview we could be delayed for more months due to the security checks. I would be so happy to know that any security checks needing to be done, were done while the our case was at the NVC.

Most name checks happen after the interview. If they aren't going to give the visa for other reasons (ie. not valid relationship), they don't waste the time/money on the name checks.

Since your husband is from Iran, it is 99% certain there will be name checks after the interview. Check out the MENA discussions. (haven't I seen you there?)
