My word those people really knew how to make a buck, didnt they? Make little soft dogs with the SADDEST faces ever and no one can resist plunking down their allowance for the entire kennel! :)

 so true!

oh and cabbage patch kids!!

My dad bought me mine when I was 2...right when they first came out. He waited in line because all of the stores were sold out and one store got an extra shipment of 100 and 100 only. He was number 37 in line.

Angianna Leoteen was her name..LOL

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Oh dear, Cabbage Patch Kids. I was 10 when they came out and remember seeing news reports of parents beating each other up in the toy store. I never liked dolls growing up--I thought they were scary--but I did like Cabbage Patch Kids, probably because they weren't lifelike in the least. I asked my mother for one for Christmas, and she said, "You've got to be kidding me." Ha! New England mothers. Anyway, I actually did get one a couple of years later (at which point I was no longer interested, of course), as sort of a joke. It was from Sweden, and the box and adoption papers were in Swedish. Apparently they didn't sell over there, so Jordan Marsh (a now defunct department store) bought them from Swedish retailers sold them here for $50, which was about $20 more than the regular ones went for. Not a bad strategy for selling another country's unwanted merchandise!

I was able to acquire a Cabbage Patch Kid Koosa. Does anyone remember those? The box looked very similar to the CPK box, but inside was a hideous creature that was supposed to resemble a cat, I think. The one I managed to get my hands on had a brown plastic head and a body with horizontal orange and white stripes. He (she?) wore yellow shorts with rainbow suspenders. It was truly horrifying, but it was mine, dammit! I bought it with Christmas money, and when I brought it home, my mother said, "What the holy hell is that?!" "It's a Koosa!" I said, as if she was nuts for asking. A few years later, I gave it to a friend of mine to use in an art school project. I think my Koosa ended up mercifully decapitated but preserved for future generations.

My favorite childhood toy, without a doubt, was Intellivision II. It came with the BurgerTime cartridge. In fact, we got it the same Christmas that I was denied a Cabbage Patch Kid because my mother didn't want to get into a fistfight with mothers in suburban Boston.

Aw, the memories.

Score! I just found this picture on the Internet. The Koosa I had looked just like the one on the bench.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I remember my Cabbage Patch Doll!! Her name was Lynette Jacqueline- as far as I know it is still at my friends house when I brought it for her kids to play with. It still had it's original diaper on it when I first brought it over.

Pound Puppies, Pound Puppy Yuppies, Mon Chi Chi, Playdoh Barbershop, cookie monster with the googly eyes, lite brite, etc.
