IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview

Hi! We DCF'd our I-130 in Vancouver (May 11) and send off our Packet 3 to Montreal on June 25th- I think that this date is supposed to be comparable to people who are at the 'Done at NVC.' We are still anxiously waiting to hear back about our interview date!

The thing that concerns me is that the last document we received from Montreal was dated 2 weeks prior to it actually making it to our mailbox. Just wondering if our paperwork is floating around somewhere out there...

Hi Lilsmor,

You are correct, the June date is comparable to the 'completed at NVC date'.

You can call the department of state (don't know the number off the top of my head but do a search on VJ for it and you will find it) - alternately you can email the Montreal consulate at Montreal-IV-DV@state.gov and ask them if you have an interview scheduled yet.

Be sure to put your case number in the subject line.

DOS # is 202-663-1225

Press 1, then 0. You'll get to an operator and they can tell you if you have an interview yet.

I petitioned my wife and son DCF. I'm stateside now but they're both in canada...Waiting is killin me. I'm gonna phone DOS again right now...

Can I call DOS too????

But really, can I? Or is it all up to NVC to give me any and all info until our file gets sent to Montreal?

you could probably phone DOS, but you can't get through right now anyways. The last two times I called it wouldn't even que me up, it just says call back later.

DOS doesn't make the interviews for CR1/IR1 except those filed by DCF.

You can get the same info from DOS lgg (ie they can look at your file) - but they don't know anything that NVC doesn't know. If you want to call a different number though, then you could I suppose

hehe yes Trailmix I'm not on the timeline. That is because time has stopped moving. I honestly had no Idea waiting for something could be this painful. ah well, as many have said, at least we have VJ. Hey while your here, how come my pic on my profile won't display in the forums? I emailed Montreal and got an answer back within an hour! Too bad it was not the answer I wanted to hear...

They said that 'our file is in queue and should be be scheduled soon.' I am wondering how Montreal interprets 'soon,' does that mean next week or 2 months from now?!
