You would think they would clarify if they wanted cover sheets or not.

Personally - and this is just my view - I think they have clarified it by never asking for it. I have never seen on a USCIS or NVC document a request for a cover letter. It's a VJ 'made up' thing

Added DCF to Avery - also Avery, if you tell me when you sent your package back to the consulate we will use that as your 'completed at NVC' date.

Thank you for updating us. =D

Sending back the DS-230 (packet 3 to my understanding) was the last thing we did which was on 06/05/09. And then we got our letter just the other day. lol sometimes I think we are missing steps.

I just called them, and it looks like I'm not getting an October interview at the consulate. I kind of figured as such when I saw Steve get his at the end of October. I'm sure I'll be scheduled in for November, but this begs the question as to why people three months ahead of me got interviews! lol The whole reason we had to go back and forth with the NVC was because their instructions were contradictory.

Beyond asking my legal advisers to talk to a supervisor at the NVC, I doubt there's really anything I can do. Just my luck it'll be a December interview, which next to March is one of the worst weather months for me where we're always completely snowed in -- and my way to my home in the States is through not only WNY, not only WPA, but the Appalachians the whole way! Geeeeeez guys let me in already haha

I gotta say, dawg that really burns my toast too -- what's the rationale? I'm really sorry that you didn't get an interview -- I'm sorry for the others here who finished in June or July and are still waiting. They seem to really have this on a back burner lately.

Good luck, eh?

Let's try and keep each other posted as to dates and any interesting tips and such when speaking to operators. It's gotta happen at some point, right?

RIGHT??

;)

Hey Dawg, I sent the NVC an e-mail on Thursday, Sept. 10 asking when they think they may have a date available. I also mentioned that other cases approved after ours received interview dates, just to try pushing them along. As expected, they haven't answered yet and who knows if they will. I have a feeling they will start scheduling for November and as soon as I get a date, they'll respond to the e-mail asking why I sent the e-mail because I already have a date!

Wow, I'm so sorry you guys are still waiting. It really sucks. I would keep calling though because some of the folks that got scheduled in August heard on the 23rd of the month, so don't give up hope just yet. Even if it's not October, you surely must be in line for November.

It definitely does get frustrating this time of the month for me (VMS haha), but I always think well it's about two or so weeks until the middle of the next month, so my chances should be even greater to get an interview.

Yesterday was a fantastic day for me though -- best in months. Got free pizza after they made the wrong order for me, Telus gave me all sorts of free stuff basically for a year after explaining my situation to them for a phone I haven't used in a year and a half, and I gave the boot to my Dell loan. The only thing that could have made it better was an email from the NVC saying come on down to the Montreal revolving-door!

This is a bit off-topic, but did anyone see Obama on Letterman? I actually found myself agreeing with him with the points he was making about health care, but he didn't mention exactly HOW it's going to save America money (and he naturally didn't mention the excise tax he'll impose on people as explicitly listed in the bill if they don't get or can't afford insurance, but that's another matter). I'm definitely not a left-leaning guy, but most of the objections seem to be coming from those with money that fill up their wallets at the health insurance industry station. My opinion on this is actually very similar to that of Andrew Napolitano on Fox.

But naturally, being Canadian eh, free health care just doesn't seem all that bad ;)

Yes. It took 144 days for us to get an interview date (completed June 4th, interview October 26th). You will almost certainly be November. But the waiting is endless . . .
