IR1 / CR1 - Montreal Timeline to Interview

Wow! Congrats on all the interview dates. I need to call... I must read back and find that number, I know I have seen it posted on here bofore.

We are actually hoping for an April interview... but you know how it is.

I have called so much, I know it by heart 603-334-0700

So, I get the impression that IR-1/CR-1 interviews are only done in Montreal, Is that correct? If so, it's too bad, as I live one hour from Vancouver consulate. Since both 130 and 129 are approved, I now face the choice of IR1/CR1 verses K3, as It appears that neither of my daughters (17 and 20) want to move down with me to US. The GC and SSN immediately are certainly appealing, but not necessary, as I will continue to work in Canada (bordertown). So I save 500-600 dollars in costs to US govt and spend it on airfare and hotel to Mntrl. Is that a fair comparison?

I am not sure about that. I hope someone else can give you a good idea. Remember that with the K3, you will also to pay the $1010 AOS fee.

Cr-1 is the far superior visa over the K3. And in the long run it does cost less. yes it sucks having to fly to Montreal for a 10 minute interview, but it such less of a hassle. No more paperwork for 2 years (minus 90 days) Best of luck

I think it is veryyyy interesting that they are scheduling in February for March!

I am watching your progress to get an idea of where I might end up. We are about a month behind you. All of our documents are now being reviewed at NVC so (fingers crossed) we will be completed in a week or so.

Shiri and to hope do let us know how the interview goes... any tip/ info will be much appreciated. I need to call the Dr's office today to get an appointment for the medical. I'm excited!!!

It is the number for the National Visa Center (in New Hampshire I think). I've heard of people not being in the automated system before... did you speak with an operator?

yep it was a really nice operator actually. They just said I wasn't showing up in the system?? not sure... I double checked our case number, and it was right. I'm not sure...I guess we just wait??? lol
