Turns out, they're giving my husband his Visa after 3 PM today, too! He passed!

I like this "same day Visa service" Montreal's got going.

Wow! Congrats!!!

It looks like our interview will probably be in February, so I am hoping it is in the first week or the third or fourth week. My sister is getting married on Valentines and I am hoping my hubby and I can attend. I talked to him tonight and if everything goes smoothly, he will be driving out to visit us for Christmas. We live 2000 miles away, so if he leaves on Saturday then we should see him Monday or Tuesday. I was getting really bummed cuz I didn't know if it was going to work out and with the interview not being scheduled for January... let's just say this piece of news from him about visiting was absolutely wonderful and timely! What are you doing for Christmas? Will you be spending it together or apart?

I'm so glad to hear that you will spend time with your husband for Christmas! My husband only live about 6-hours-driving-distance from where I am, so we see each other almost every-other weekend (fri-sun). I can't imagine being so far apart! You are so strong.

I wish we only lived 6 hours apart! Thanks for your encouragement!

So everyone, I really need your input on how we will change this table in the New Year. When we did our NVC stuff last year, there was no online payment, so I am not sure how that affects the process, or if it really does. Can anyone give a brief point by point of the steps now?

Maybe?

- NOA2

- NVC assigns case number

- DS-3032 sent

- Some online payment made (not sure what order you pay them in)

- Documents submitted (do you send the DS-230 and I-864 at the same time now, since you pay them both online or?)

- Completed at NVC

- Interview Date

we paid the AOS bill

once they receive the agent of choice - they generate the DS 230, and payable online right away

my husband and I are sending in the AOS and DS 230 at the same time

not sure if this helps at all tho?

Date of I-751 = 03/05/2011

NOA Date = 3/08/2011

Biometrics = 04/11/2011

Approved = 09/08/2011

It does!

So what triggers you paying for the AOS, same thing? You call them and find out it was generated, pay online and just mail it in?

Check out http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/...he_NVC_ShortCut and scroll down a bit until you get to the big black headers.

Personally, I think calling for the invoice# is a waste of time. They send out the letter w/the number on it quickly enough. After that you can email your choice of agent (DS-3032).

So after you get your invoice#, you can pay your AOS online. When it is accepted you can send in your AOS package (I-864) with the barcode/cover page you can get online.

It also appears that when they accept the AOS payment, they will produce the invoice for IV.

When they accept the IV payment you can print out the barcode / cover sheet online and send in your IV package (DS-230).

Then you just wait for "case complete" or an RFE.

For us, it was when they received the DS3032 they produce the invoices for the IV. Basically, when you have pay online, you have to pay with a US checking account. You have to wait one to three days for it to show paid before you can print out the coversheet with the barcode to do the next step. We got our DS3032 and the AOS Bill along with the case number. The AOS bill tells you the invoice number which is how you get online... which is what they already said. If I had listened better here, I would not have had all the errors I had with sending in the originals and getting RFE and then the Case Complete moved out 11 days from my original Case Complete. Oh yea, I never showed up in the automated system at the NVC and still don't.

So, I guess recap of what everyone says...

:star: NOA2

:star: Choice of Agent Form sent with AOS Bill, case number and invoice number.

If you choose to pay online (with US checking account), you wait a for the website to show "PAID" next to the online invoice and then you print out the receipt and coversheet along with getting next instructions.

:star: When they produce the IV bill, if you pay online they do not mail you the checklist of what you need, you get it online and they provide the link when the bill shows PAID.

:star: Then you wait for case complete and interview date. (After it shows case complete, you can no longer log into the online at NVC.)

For Petitioner the process is:

AOS Bill

I864 and supporting documents

For Beneficiary:

DS3032

IV Bill

DS230 and supporting documents (ORIGINALS)

Sorry if this was redundant! :innocent:

Great to hear wowswift

No not redundant at all Shiri, thank, and you too Ms Z - not much has changed really, just that you get to pay online - which is kind of handy.

I think this table can be honed down though as there is no real waiting for them to produce the request for AOS and DS-230, so that info is no longer really helpful.

Paying online really helps a lot. The entire NVC process is such a pleasure compared with USCIS.

BTW, those visa stamps are really lovely looking.
