I brought emails, yahoo chat logs, pictures of us and never was asked to show anything. One of the times when I was called up to the window to give them my original documents, I saw a big approved stamp on our file. When we were called up to the window for the interview, it was like we were assumed approved. We were not asked any questions of how we met, nothing. I was asked twice about my kids, then she was shocked I had grand children. Everyone was so nice.

If the NVC has all of my original documents already, they should be forwarded on to the Consulate, do I just bring copies?

I still brought my original documents and photographs at my interview, it's just nice to be prepared.

I brought copies of all my originals and husband's documents, had lots of pictures, boarding passes, chat logs etc. I was disappointed almost when they didn't ask for anything, I had spent so much time preparing.

Were you asked alot of questions on how you met etc?

Technically they should be. In any case, it's good to bring whatever you have. I brought all my originals as well as a copy of each. Everything from the I-130 application as well as all the paperwork for the NVC process.

They didn't need anything, and didn't even ask for proof of relationship. It's always good to be prepared though.

They asked when, where and how we met and about our daughter only. They did asked for more pictures. I was told that I looked like I had fun organizing our pictures lol it was worth having all documents with me. What really disappointed me was the welcome letter. I thought it will be original not photocopy. I'm just grateful to have gotten approved!!!

Yes they give them back to u in any case just order some more. That's what I did.

You mean in case they dont give them back or in case they haven't been forwarded to the Consulate? Ontario birth certificates take 6-8 weeks to come through the mail so its not like I would be able to get these before my interview in 3 weeks.

Did u ever sent nvc original birth certificates or marriage certificates? If you did they (meaning consulate) should have gotten them. It says so in the checklist in the packet 4 that you received from the consul if they received your originals. They (consulate) give u back the originals, except for your police certificate.

Not if you order online. Usually takes 5-10 days at the most. When I ordered In Canada I had mine within 3 days, when I ordered from The United states It took 5 days. (I did not use the premium service)

This is another advantage to doing Electronic Proc. Because you dont have to worry about sending in originals and the consulate losing them.

I just wanted to double check that they weren't requiring me to bring more originals with me, and if I just showed up with copies then it would be okay. Just being a little neurotic....

Went to visit my husband last night and stopped into Customs to talk to a Border Agent about the procedure with importing my belongings and my car at POE time. The guard was very helpful and knowledgeable. Has anyone here had experience with filling out the CBP form 3299 for importing belongings? I was looking it over and might need some help.

If you are accompanying your own belongings you do not have to fill out anything. Form 3299 is for unaccompanied goods. I brought some of my light stuff over myself...no forms required; I used a moving company for the remaining stuff (furniture etc.) and they took care of all of the forms.

If you are accompanying your own belongings you do not have to fill out anything. Form 3299 is for unaccompanied goods. I brought some of my light stuff over myself...no forms required; I used a moving company for the remaining stuff (furniture etc.) and they took care of all of the forms.

According to this guy, because I will be driving my car and my husband is driving the UHaul behind me, I have to fill this out and my husband has to cross with it along with a picture of my passport.
