Kathy and our son Adam now have their visas, and we are now together in the US!

I just wanted to warn people however about how slow it can be at POE. Kathy flew out of Toronto Pearson Intl, terminal 1. Her flight was booked for Saturday Dec. 11 at 9:15am. She arrived at the airport with our 2yr old son Adam at 6:15am and was face to face with a U.S. customs officer by 7:00am. He instructed her to wait in a secondary area for her visa to be stamped. She waited there for OVER 2 HOURS AND MISSED HER FLIGHT!!! The Air Canada representative in the Customs waiting area could not do anything to help, and told her that this was an unusually slow day. Once she got called up it took only 30 seconds for them to take her papers and stamp her passport. Since her bags had not yet been checked, however, she couldn't board her flight because they need at least 30 minutes to process the baggage.

Kathy and Adam stayed at a hotel and took the same flight the following day. With their visas already processed, they didn't need to wait in the secondary area this time. However, they did notice that on Sunday it was WAY less busy.

I wish someone had told us that this could happen. We thought that arriving at the airport 3 hours early would be plenty of time, but on a bad day apparently not. Be warned!

Hi everyone! I have been a lurker for several months but I thought I should finally say hello. My fiance (he's the American, I'm the Canadian) sent our application in end of July so we're hoping we're going to hear something soon too. Congrats to everyone who just got their interview date! That's exciting!!!

is there still hope that nvc will schedule more interview for january..

I'm afraid you won't get a good answer anywhere to that question!

I was in pretty much the same boat as you last month . . . a late June case complete, and the early June folks had got their interviews the previous month. The mid-June case completes got their emails on Saturday, Nov 6 . . . and then there was nothing. As it dragged past mid-month I resigned myself to Montreal not getting through the rest of the June case completes in December. Then out of nowhere I got my email for a December interview on Saturday, Nov 20 and it zipped ahead into July folks. So this month some earlier August case completes got their notifications fairly early in the month, and now it has gone quiet again. Unfortunately, only time will tell if that's it for the month.

Hope there's still more to come . . . but don't hold your breath. And don't take anything the NVC operators tell you about whether scheduling has started or finished as definitive either. They generally just parrot the party line . . . "interviews are scheduled in the second week of the month for the following month". Anybody who has followed this thread for a while knows that is not accurate . . last month alone demonstrates that.

Jeff had his medical yesterday. He got poked and prodded and everything went well. He should be picking up the results next week. Now it's my turn to get super organized with all of the paperwork, because God know Jeff doesn't know how to organize anything. :)

24 more days til interview! Woot!
