Timeline

Hi all - I have been watching this thread for several months now and finally registered. I'll try to add our official timeline later although we are already in the spreadsheet. We are a June 17 case complete and just called NVC. There was no interview scheduled on their file and we were told that they schedule the second week of the month (today being the last day).

Frankly, I am worried those of us still waiting with June case completes will need to wait until December. If anyone has any information on whether the interviews have been handed out, or whether there is still some hope they are handing out interviews, we are very eager to hear.

Many thanks,

Rugga

I also called in this morning and was told no interview had been scheduled for us yet but that they weren't done scheduling for November yet. She followed that up by saying she 'hopes we get an interview date soon' and I of course said 'me too'! But like you, am also nervous we are looking at December.

No, I would have if I could have. This information only appeared within the context of my logged in session. I can't post a link to it unfortunately. The best I can do is give the link to the main site where I began by logging in with our passport numbers and personal info:

http://canada.usvisa-info.com/

You are right that it seems to suggest the U.S. citizen spouse is not allowed to accompany you! I noticed that too. However, there is another PDF document with details about Montreal that said that a U.S. citizen may accompany you. Here is the link to that document:

http://travel.state....L-0008-1009.pdf

These overlapping immigration departments seem to be very disorganized, duplicating information inconsistently and even offering some of the same services without communicating with each other or making it clear to us how things work. I am very used to it now and have come to expect it after more than a year of wading through this madness!

Thanks for the link !! With this site can you actually schedule your interview without having to wait months to find when it is from the NVC ? We just got our NVC approval this week. I started entering my information in, but didn't want to go to far, in fear of messing something up.

Just talked to NVC . . . supposedly scheduling is done for this month . . . and no November interview for me. I don't see any sign that any other of the mid/late June case completes made it either?

Is there some sort of over/under on how far behind Montreal can manage to fall?

Best wishes for those that did finally get their interview date . . . but I am bummed out! :(

I was afraid that was going to happen and I just don't get it. How could they only get 1/2 way thru the case completes from June? And it doesn't look like they schedule alot of interviews in December (thanks Trailmix for sending me the old spreadsheet showing '07-'08 interviews!), probably because of the holidays. I thought giving this process a year from the date we sent in the I-130 was going to be more than enough - boy, was I wrong!

Grrrrrr...

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa. Are you freakin kidding me? People who completed NVC in June don't have interviews yet???? My hubby and I are entering month 4 of waiting for our NOA 2 and the thought of waiting an additional 5 months for an interview just makes me sick. How can they do this???!!! I mean, god. No wonder so many people immigrate illegally. How can they keep people apart like this?? Oh god I just want to cry.

Isn't there something we can do? Ugh. I want to cry.

Yeah Phel... it's pretty sickening. I know I certainly don't understand how the consulate can just keep falling further and further behind. Anytime people ask me why I can't move to be with my husband yet, I have to try to not burst into tears. And then I get mad. And then I get disheartened. Usually I get mad again.

I can't offer much in the way of an explanation, but I think that everyone here can certainly empathize with your feelings of frustration and sadness.

Has anyone complained? There must be something we can do. It's inhumane to make us wait 5 months for 10 minute interview. God, I feel so hopeless right now.

All marriage visa's go through Montreal. They are behind a lot! So if you see people waiting before you who were complete at NVC earlier than you, they will be processed first.

Its a wait but worth it and hopefully they'll catch up in the new year!

Question: For those that are waiting for an interview at the Montreal Consulate, did any of you file electronically? Why not schedule the interview online when it was initiated? Unless that's only a recent development?

You can't apply online for this. NVC does this for all CR1 filers. If you have to re-schedule a date they give you then you are able to do that online .... We all would like this to have been the case.

Maybe they'll come up with a faster procedure sometime soon!
