I believe you are placed in line for an interview once you have submitted your DS230 form and they have processed everything on their end, not when you apply in the first place though that usually determines the order in which they send out their P3's - if that makes sense to you... :)

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it's based on your "case complete" date. Like you, I was a victim of delays on the NVC end. If that hadn't been the case, I would have had an April case complete and a July interview! Instead, I'm booked for October! It's not fair, really, but that's the way it goes.

Good luck.

Interesting. When I called that new number the woman said that I must have a letter/email indicating that it is time for me to schedule our interview. She said that she could go ahead and schedule an interview for us but it wouldn't do us any good unless we have been instructed by NVC that this is the next step we should take.

It definitely seems there is some confusion with this new system. I am very curious to see what NVC says when you call them. I am waiting now to get an NVC operator and ask what is going on with this new system.

Jeremy

I finally got through to the NVC (after about another 15 attempts) and the operator didn't know anything about this other number. He talked to his supervisor and said the interview still has to come through/from the NVC. So it appears the interview date I got is a non-starter; I'll call the 514... number tomorrow and try and talk to a supervisor.

They did say that October appointments are still being booked, so it sounds like some more folks will get October appointments. Would be nice if they got caught up all the through the June case completes :) , but I'm not optimistic that they will get that far.

okay so I clicked the link www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov, under the "Interview Preparation" link from my interview letter and somewhere in there it talks about having to sign up with dhl to have your visa delierved. so i am tired and cannot really focus but I am confused as to whether we still need to buy a envelope or not. ??

I obviously don't know for sure, but when I was scheduling my phantom appointment on the 514... number I got the impression that the envelope was being replaced with your visa being shipped to a local DHL location and you now go pick it up, and the sign-up would generate a waybill that could be used to track your visa's return.

FINALLY!!!! I am pretty happy that the long wait IS OVER!

The new system is great and easy for incoming new applicants

Our batch were hit as they Transition to the New System....

My interview will be on October 26 and who ever on the same date with me, let's see each other in MTL.

You are right. When I booked my interview online I was required to pick a DHL destination where I wanted my Visa couriered to for pick up. I just hope that it isn't going to take months to get that now too lol :bonk:

Im still confused as to whether we should still bring the envelope or go through the dhl site thingy. I mean we were scheduled the old way so I would think we would just continue with the usual way but now that there is the "new system" I am just not sure.

Hi Devon, from what I read, it seems that the ExpressPost envelope is no longer used. Instead, we are to register for the DHL location of our choice . . . in the NVC P4 letter we got, page 1, it does refer us to go to www.immigrantvisas.state.gov website and select the "Embassy/Consulate General-Specific Interview Guidelines" . . . anyway, I went to the CSC site, selected Courier Information, logged in, and registered for my DHL location.

Glad you are still doing the happy dance :)

Cheers,

Karen

Hey,

This is what is said for me too. You have to click on Schedule Appointment. It will then take you to the screens where you enter your passport, birth date, etc. Just keep clicking on Continue and you will end up at a calendar to select the date for your appt.

Hope this helps a little.
