Hi Trialmix,

We do have photo copies of both certificates. ( Canadian and Indian )

For Canadian , I know it will not take longer than 3 days day to get one.

For the Indian Police Certificate , I need to apply from Ottawa and it takes 5 weeks.

The question is , I don't want them back from NVC. Just wondering if I should have orignal with me for being safe during the interview.

We don't know , if in the interview letter they will ak for it ?

So needed suggestion on this.

I have never heard of anyone being asked for another copy of the police certificate at the interview.

You know this is tough, everyone wants to bring new originals of everything, plus extra stuff, I think we need to take a step back to avoid being too paranoid. Prepared yes, paranoid - well we can't say that just because one or two people were asked for something that everyone should take that document.

My Husband was asked for my additional 2 years of tax returns, I do recommend that everyone take these (but it states in their guidelines that the CO might request these). Two people have been asked for the petitioner's birth certificate, should everyone take this now?

We also had a VJ member where her Husband was asked to provide a copy of his resume - but that was only 1 person, so does that mean no one else should bother?

Honestly Salnik, I don't know, this is a ####### shoot. Different COs will ask for different things from time to time.

The thing is though...is it not worth the peace of mind knowing that all your bases are covered when you go into that interview? Given that it is, theoretically, one of the most important days of one's life, isn't it most prudent to be overprepared? I hadn't heard of someone being asked for a resume before, but since you've now mentioned that someone HAS, I'll probably print one off and take it with me too. Can't hurt. Takes ten seconds. Fits in my folder. There...there's another eventuality covered! When it comes to more expensive mailed documents, maybe a bit more discretion is required...but if it's just butt-covering stuff like printing extra copies or having information that may or may not be asked for, the ounce of prevention is merited, in my opinion.

That is absolutely right...when your interview date is getting closer, the more that you will think all the WHAT IF's in the world!!! When I had my interview, all the proofs that I can think of were on a big plastic bag(JACOB) with me. Though, in my appointment letter, it says everything is submitted at NVC. The CO did not bother to ask anything from those stuffs that I have in my JACOB plastic bag:-)

I was just so shocked that I was asked about the CENOMAR---it never occured in my mind that I will be asked so does our lawyer. When I asked our lawyer about the additional doc, she told us that the CO has the discretion to ask additional doc during the interview.

Good luck on your interview....You will be fine.

Well that is the question I was putting out there actually. The thing what trips you up is the INCREDIBLY LONG wait, should you have to provide another document or more proof of something.

I also do not think it is important to take another actual original of each document, a photocopy should suffice.

I think it would be nice if some nice person wrote up a list of all potential documents to take to the CR1/IR1 interview. Otherwise it's just all of us chatting in the interview thread providing bits and pieces of information that will be lost 20 pages from now. Just a suggestion. :)

Maybe someone could anonymously get in touch with Paul Meyer and pick his brain about ANY and ALL documents possibly needed for an average case. Honestly, we're trying to save THEM time too! :P

Maybe that person who makes the list would update the Canada wiki for IR1/CR1 with the information. Once location is always a good thing. Just a thought.

If I can get all of the information, I'll be happy to write it. Just as I'll likely write a wiki about EP from a Canadian perspective once I've successfully gotten through my interview!

Can someone explain to me why, if you DCF in the UK, you can bring in virtually no proof of reestablishing domicile and it's all good?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry3727866

Are the COs afraid that the U.S. spouses will be sneaking back in to Canada under cloak of darkness?

That is the question I would like to ask in an 'Open letter' to the COs in Montreal.
