I just called NVC and they said they are done scheduling for February and we did not get an March date :crying:

This is so frustrating ...

We heard the same thing last March, then the next day I received my interview email. Hang in there. :thumbs:

Kinda disapointing to see no names on the bottom of that list have any interview dates scheduled. No interviews scheduled in Montreal(Minus Cndwife) Lets hope those names get dates soon!

Wow!!! It has been a long time since I saw TM's tracker look so short! I remember when I first saw the tracker and hoped that one day my name would be on it! Now I am done, and my space is waiting to be filled by a new name!!

I want to send good luck vibes to everyone who is preparing for their interview, those who are waiting to have an interview schedualed, and to all those on their journey's!!

The only other recent one dropped a bit of a bombshell when she revealed that she had to present the USC's birth certificate. SO glad I found that out...my wife is sending me a certified copy of hers solely for that reason.

Wow, next Wednesday will make for an interesting waiting room! Three VJers in there at the same time...

Must be something new, as I had my wifes Birth cert with me and they didnt ask for it! In fact we had it overnighted from DC to the Mtl hotel!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Yeah, it MAY have something to do with Electronic Processing.

Or it MAY have just been a mistake by the consular agent.

Best to have more info, then not enough!! Thats why we had it overnighted! I contacted mtl to see if we needed the USA citizen BC at the interview and the person onthe phone (they actually answered calls back in 2004,lol) could not give us a yes/no response!!

Been away from the forum because of work and travel. I recieved my medical results today so I am all set to go to Montreal next week. Re birth certificate, I have a question, my husband is not US born, he is a naturalized US citizen and he doesnt have his birth certificate with him in US. I think Naturalization Certificate, his passport and him being there with me at the interview is good enough. What do you guys think?

Been away from the forum because of work and travel. I recieved my medical results today so I am all set to go to Montreal next week. Re birth certificate, I have a question, my husband is not US born, he is a naturalized US citizen and he doesnt have his birth certificate with him in US. I think Naturalization Certificate, his passport and him being there with me at the interview is good enough. What do you guys think?

I honestly have no clue. The request of a USC's birth certificate at an interview two weeks ago sort of casts a bit of confusion on what they'll ask for now. I don't think ANYone had been asked to present the USC's BC prior to that...not in recent times, at least.

I think you'll be fine. I'm tempted to think it was just a mistake on the consulate's part to take the USC's BC. I mean, even the interview checklist says "N" for the USC BC...so just bring all the docs you have and you should be fine, I think.

Quick update on the Birth Cert. Just went through the POE yesturday and they kept the my wifes Birth Cert and our Marriage Cert. Hope it's not another mistake, but I ask a few times if I can have them back and the Agents at the border said Nope, it has to stay in the file here.
