Yeah, but don't get over worried, it does seem like I'm one of the first to go through this with EP so hopefully they will be able to download the "document" they need ahead of time. Even the girl at the window to start with didn't know how to proceed exactly when i got there. So if you have to wait, don't stress.

Oh okay, I'm glad I decided to take the paper route then. It seems a lot less complicated to me.

Another question, does anyone know how military...taxes work? Basically, my husbands been deployed since March 09, he made way over the poverty limit. He's back in 2010. Now I just saw his W-2 and it shows $12k as taxable income. But his LES statement shows 36k. In NVC, everything we sent in was approved and A-OK. But now I'm confused about taxes...@_@ Everyone I've talked to said they'll base his income off his LES but I can't help but fuss. D: < And will we need a letter stating he's been deployed? @_@

Well, there are four other EPers from here that will interview before me, soooo...hopefully they can get the folks in Montreal well-versed in the process!

Out of curiosity, did you bring ALL documents you sent in with you...even the ones the interview letter stated weren't required? I plan on bringing literally everything, just to cover all my bases.

Yeah I brought everything, they have a checklist they go down asking for the documents. They where, Both birth certificates, marriage certificate, divorce certificate(was married before), AOS document, DS 230 all pages, your letter, passport, 2 photos(and yes your 2 you had down that you scanned in are good), police certificate, think that's it.

In the actual interview I didn't show any paperwork or photo's or anything else. Just signed the DS230 and answered some basic questions and had a short chat with the lady. She's from Cali too where I'm going.

Yeah...my interview checklist said petitioners birth certificate was N/A

ya I gave her both birth certificates. She didn't ask for it specifically but when I gave it to her she took it and didn't give it back. Somethings they give back if they don't need it. Can you at least get a copy of her's?

Actually it kind of sounds like she didn't know what she was doing. They (normally) never keep any original documents and they don't need the petitioner's birth certificate, so that doesn't sound right.

Sounds like she was just scrambling for stuff because she was unsure what to do.

But anyway, congratulations to both you and dawghouse!!

I'm still rather annoyed by the whole petitioner birth certificate thing. I've sent an email to NVC Montreal for clarification. I don't know if my wife can get a certified copy to me in three weeks...and I wouldn't want her to have her original taken.
