Thanks, yea that's the problem, its only 3 days a week.. and i'll be entering Canada on the friday.. and the interview is on the next tuesday.. according to the website, the results take 2 days to be processed. Its not really possible for me to enter the country earlier because of exams that I have going on, but I guess the only option left for me is to send them the medical exam results after the interview. How does that process work?

Basically you go to the interview, tell them you don't have the results back yet, if they approve your visa they will hold it pending the results. Not sure if the Dr. will forward to them to the consulate for you or not, perhaps someone who has done this will comment on that.

I'm not all that worried about establishing a domicile, as I've been living in the same place in the US for over two years, and my wife will be joining me there. My question, though, is when do you think should I be looking to add her name to my lease -- before the interview, or after she moves?

It shouldn't matter from an immigration standpoint.

However, my wife just signed a lease a couple of days ago for a new apartment and has my name on it -- I'm getting her to send me a copy, just to use as proof of bonafide relationship. It can't hurt to add your wife's name to the lease for the same reason, but I don't believe it's in any way essential.

Ok friends.

I got home today, and I had a lovely envelope from the Montreal Consulate General...with our interview scheduling for March! We are booked for March 11. Here is my issue--we are both in Canada, and I am awaiting the results of the US medical residency match, which occurs on March 18. So I won't know where I am matched to until that date. I can't sign a lease, etc until I have that contract, so...I am going to contact them and see if I can get an April interview date. We don't need my husband's green card until July, as he has to finish out the school year here. But it would be helpful to have it sooner so he can start to look for a job/get his teaching license sorted out for our new state.

Darned domicile proof! Even if they had booked me for late March, I would be ok. I am sure I could have gotten a lease signed within a week of my match date, and our house here will be on the market by then as well.
