Kinda disapointing to see no names on the bottom of that list have any interview dates scheduled. No interviews scheduled in Montreal(Minus Cndwife) Lets hope those names get dates soon!

I am trying to figure out if I should get medical results couriered back to me or drive back up to Toronto and pick them up. Does anyone how long it takes to get them back by courier?

It might be worth the extra trip. Your medical is very close to the interview. Do you really want to chance it? Plus, it generally takes 2 days to get the results back, so that would mean your results could be done by Feb 25 which would only give a courier Friday and Monday to get the package to you for your interview on Tuesday... Heck, if you do it right, pick up the results on Monday in Toronto on your way to Montreal!

I gotta question...after the interview, since I've been married over 2 yrs, I would get an IR-1 not a CR-1, right? Does that mean my greencard won't be 2-yr conditional?

I was told I could get them within five days by courier when I made the appointment for the medical with Plexo in Montreal but when we got there I was told that they won't send the results by courier which is total B.S. but they told us we could pick them up any day before the interview so it wasn't that big a deal and it saves me 50 bucks to have them couriered anyway. I would prefer the peace of mind though to have them couriered to my wife so we have everything in hand well in advance of our interview.

In my "welcome to the USA" letter, it says that after 5 years I will be eligible to apply for citizenship -- I had thought that as a Spouse of a USC, I would be able to do that after 3 years?

What say you guys?

Thanks OBX. Hey I'm looking at your timeline there, so your POE was in June and you didn't get your green card till July? So question here, my wife and I most likely plan on "activating CR1" on date X, but we will probably want to turn right around so my wife can get things in order before moving, plus I'm waiting on the bank and stuff for a house to go through and no offense my parents, she doesn't really want to come live with me and my parents in NY while she has her own place in Ontario. Is it a wise idea after our interview to just go to one of the bridges to activate? or not. I kinda just want to get it over with but I guess then she'd have no green card yet, so would they raise a big stink? Or would they clearly be able to see from her passport on her visa page that shes a PR?

we have interview March 3rd, "ideally" we'd like to move into a new house on April 1st, but thats a whole other story, we're waiting on the bank and blah blah blah. Buying a house is a nightmare in NY. But again, Ideally I'd like to get her approval, then get her Visa back and she can start coming over every so often to start setting up and painting the new house. I know we have 6 months to POE but there's that excitement of POE-ing sooner rather than waiting lol.

On that same note, I was reading stuff on getting her a SS card and number. So we can start that process now? Is it advised or just to wait. How long is it until she'd get that?
