To save time, I would just have go and have all the shots -- it took me about 3 almost 4 weeks to get my titre results back -- not sure if it's typical. It won't hurt him to have all his shots boostered.

Hope this helps.

Congratulations!

Hope it all goes well.

:D

Regarding the vaccinations:

My hubby has no proof of his. The public health unit would require him to go there, fill out a form, then they'd send it off to see if they have it offsite. Well, we're kinda pressed for time. He only requires MMR, TDap, and Chicken pox (which he had, just need the year for that one). Should I just have him go to the doctor and get the MMR/TDap? He's going to have to have the TDap anyway.

Called the doctor's office anyway - they won't do the shots without a titer test done. I'm making him go to BC Biomed to get it done tomorrow then he has to go to the doctor's office to get the Adacel done. It really frustrates me that I've been telling him to get this stupid test done for months now and he's just put it off. :|

Edit: The doctor's office won't do an MMR update without a titer test being done anyway.

I am pretty happy for everyone. :)

March will be a great month.

I had my fingers crossed that ours wasn't going to be March 24-31 as we had a vacation booked for over 8 months. It worked out perfectly. :)

Hey Mal,

None of my Husband's records were available. He had the titer test for MMR - they would not give it to him, because, here at least, if it's not indicated, you don't get it (asked both public health and the Doctor). He did have to have a tetanus booster, had that done at the panel physician. It had been more than 10 years since his last booster - so if it has been more than 10 for your Husband, I would recommend he go and have that now.

They will accept a verbal statement that he has had chicken pox or the vaccine for it.

It took almost 2 weeks for his titer test results to come back, of course it will vary, but they did say it would be faster - it was not - just a heads up.

Yeah, I'm going to book him an appointment at the doctor's for Tuesday to get the Adacel since it doesn't cost anything to get it done there. I hope to God that the MMR titer doesn't take too long. BC Biomed is pretty good at getting test results back, hopefully it stays that way.

I am angry panda atm.

Angry? Why????

I know some guys do that sometimes, but don't be angry! It'll all work out. He still has lots of time to get it done.

Problem with the travel clinic is how expensive they are. :\ Maybe I should have them give just the MMR and do the Adacel at our doctor's office.

He's going to the one just south of downtown Van since it was the first one I found. I think he likes this better since he won't have to get up early to go to BC Biomed tomorrow.
