The only thing now I would like to know is if anyone else that is interviewing this month can get their visa the next day or how long does it take to get it mailed? Also is there a shuttle bus or something to take you from the airport in Montreal to your hotel instead of an expensive taxi?

Thanks guys

If you are flying into Montreal-Trudeau, there is a free a'erobus shuttle from airport to selected hotels..BUT you have to CALL and make a reservation...http://www.autobus.qc.ca/anglais/aeroportuaire_an.html you have to read through the document a wee bit, but it i there...

Free shuttle service between other downtown Montréal hotels and the Airbus Station.

I think passport photos are good for 6 months! They'd better be -- I am so sick of getting passport photos done! I think I've had like 20 done this year. Not. Even. Joking.....

:D

No kidding! Between hubby and I for both US and Canadiam immigration applications, we must've shelled over $300 for them.

No doubt! And each time, my face looks a little bit chubbier...

 For me, my hair gets a few more grays and my face another wrinkle!

Just called the shuttle bus http://www.autobus.qc.ca/anglais/profil_an.html that will take you to hotel from airport in Montreal. You don't need to make a reservation when you arrive, it's when you depart. When you arrive the operator said to go to window or kiosk under "spot 5" and get your ticket. Bus departs every half hour. Still need to know exactly what "spot 5" is. lol Must be something outside where the buses and taxi are.

Bern you didn't do electronic processing so you sent all your originals to NVC right?

Yep, they have all of our originals. Well, NVC does anyway. They don't have the original of my husbands birth certificate though, just a photocopy. Should I bring an original? And when I got my police letter, they gave me two...will I have to get another one? It's from November 2009 D: And NVC has a 2009 copy of my birth certificate, while I have my original here from birth. I don't really want to spend another $35 for a new BC. Ew @ finances.

No, no need to take more originals. They will have them at the consulate and will actually return them to you at the interview, or mail them to you with your visa. You should bring your Husband's original BC, since they haven't seen that though. Basically anything they haven't seen (for instance if you only provided last years tax return to NVC, bring the other two with you for the USC) - anything you take, other than stuff they haven't seen, is just to make you feel better :)

You need the 5.

Definately 3 for the medical - now the passport photos for the interview - that's a gray area. We discussed that not too long ago - it's kind of an unknown. You sent those two passport photos to NVC and they actually do forward them to the consulate. They used them on my Husband's visa and did not take the 2 he had with him.

So that is probably how it is SUPPOSED to work, however based on what people have said in this forum, some have been asked for the photos at the interview. So short answer - you probably won't need them but you have to take them with you anyhow.
