I'm starting to think about gathering all info I need for the interview, whenever that may be. For the people that did the Electronic filing at NVC, in your interview letter does it mention that they need to see the original documents like the DS-230 or birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc? I don't want to miss anything.

Thanks!

GOOD THINKING!! I completely forgot about the evidence bit. I'm pretty sure they will want your birth certificate, marriage certificate, police letter, passport photos...I wonder if we can buy an XPRESSPORT envelope yet. I mean, they don't expire right? O_O

Passport photos do... 30-60days I think? Also my wife is threatening to show up in MTL even if its on her due date! That could be entertaining... "So... you were born in Canada but also in the US."

Yeah, I've assembled virtually everything into a large compartmentalized folder. I'm not leaving anything to chance. Literally every document that has been scanned and sent to the NVC, I'm bringing the original to the interview.

Hmm. I thought it was six months. I had mine taken in October. I wonder if I'll need to get new ones? They won't match the ones that were scanned and emailed to NVC though...

My last passport pic (presumably for my GC) is hilarious. I look downright mean on it. I had it as my Facebook photo for awhile, and so many people commented on it. I thought it was a riot. Then it occurred to me that new Facebook "friends" who hadn't seen a picture of me before might think I'm some psycho killer, so I took it down, replacing it with one of me smiling...which prompted Peachey to comment, "I totally thought you were super creepy, now you look normal!"

Honestly, it looks like in February that NVC will schedule for November and possibly early December case completes. It makes me kind of mad though, my case complete was Nov 20, then they messed up, and had to reopen my file, so my case complete changed to Dec 4th. Maybe I'll get lucky like sdhiman XD!

I really hope and wish that you do. I just want Montreal to get rid off its backlog asap so no one else has to wait 3-4 months just to get a date....that is insane!

I'm starting to think about gathering all info I need for the interview, whenever that may be. For the people that did the Electronic filing at NVC, in your interview letter does it mention that they need to see the original documents like the DS-230 or birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc? Yes, my interview letter has all documents I sent via email marked as "S" which means scanned copy recieved but they want me to bring originals to the interview. I am working on making my binder with everything organized properly for the interview.

But I thought it is the page we need to sign in front of the interviewer. My advice for EP'ers is take all originals. I am. It also says to bring your passport photos that you sent scanned copy of. But I will get new ones as well to bring. This is a quote from the letter, "Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the NVC." So anything and everything since your I-130 was approved ladies and Gents!

The only thing now I would like to know is if anyone else that is interviewing this month can get their visa the next day or how long does it take to get it mailed? Also is there a shuttle bus or something to take you from the airport in Montreal to your hotel instead of an expensive taxi?

Thanks guys

Typically you can't get it on the same day / next day...but it's ALWAYS worth it to ask. Especially if you have a compelling reason.

Otherwise, it looks like it'll usually take between one and two weeks for you to get it, even with the express envelope you bring.
