Hi There!

I have been following VJ for months now, but only recently joined. I am at the NVC point and have paid the AOS and IV bills. Waiting on the hubby for the I-864 and am starting to put together the DS-230...I am filing electronically and so far so good **fingers crossed**

My question to anyone is when I fill out the DS-230 do I include just the documents for me as the beneficiary or do I need to also include the documents for my husband the petitioner?

Second question: does the police certificate need to come from the RCMP or can I go to my local police department?

Want to say that its great to have read all the forums, I've learned alot and as some have said, at least here everyone understands the frustration!!

Kinda disapointing to see no names on the bottom of that list have any interview dates scheduled. No interviews scheduled in Montreal(Minus Cndwife) Lets hope those names get dates soon!

Hey everybody waiting I just checked when I got my interview date and it was this day last month. So be ready as I had less than 3 weeks to my interview! I hope all the June group get to finish this

I've emailed them once in Sept and twice in Oct and once so far this month. I just keep getting theauto reply.

Welcome lonie! You can find info on the police certificate here - oh and the DS-230 only applies to the beneficiary.

The U.S. Consulate General in Montreal is facing a backlog of immigrant visa cases which affects their ability to schedule immigrant visa cases. This backlog was caused by an unforeseen and unpreventable staffing shortage. The Consulate is making every effort to reduce the backlog.

If only they could simply rubber stamp a few of them, taking it on faith that the USCIS and NVC rooted out the bad eggs...

Yes it's kind of kooky isn't it. If you are doing AOS, there is a pretty good chance you won't have to do an interview - but if you are in Canada you will. It's not logical - but yeah, can't apply logic here.

You would think that they would send more people up the road from where USCIS is in Vermont (I think they're an hour an a half from Montreal).

My medical went nice and fast; everyone there was pretty friendly. I was definitely prepared after looking through stuff on VJ, and I was in and out in about an hour and a half. I was a bit surprised to see I was the only white guy there! Then again, I live in an area where being a minority means you're a Habs fan haha.

They actually sent my medical results to the wrong city because they didn't get the right postal code (how they mistook an obvious C for an L is beyond me), but I got it a couple of days ago. I didn't realize just how huge those x-rays are!

I cannot believe my interview is in exactly one week from now. I've gotten so used to waiting around I almost don't know what to do when I get that visa! My lawyer said our case it probably one of the most straightforward they have dealt with, so I'm not expecting too much of a surprise. I'm just not getting my hopes up in case they delay me at the consulate and ask for more info (even though the letter and my lawyer said they really shouldn't).

Thanks Trailmix... The NVC AVR still has my case as being in process, but from what I've gathered across VJ, Sign In Fail is as definitive as it gets for case complete. I'm still a little leery of saying I'm DONE at NVC...but my sign in did indeed fail, soooo...

July 8, 2009 to August 10, 2009 - 28 days

Interview Assigned - December 3, 2009 - FINALLY!!

Medical - December 14, 2009 - Passed

Embassy/Interview - January 26, 2010 Montreal, Quebec Canada - 167 days PASSED!!!

Port of Entry - February 26, 2010 Baltimore International, Maryland

USCIS -- ROC package sent off

November 26, 2011 to Vermont station November 30, 2011 received NOA1December 16, 2011 received biometrics appointment.

January 04, 2012 Biometrics

September 2, 2012, RFE Received.

September 22, 2012 RFE responded to

October 15, 2012 ROC approved, 10 Green card on its way.
