The reports about getting the EAD stamp is that JFK seems to be the only airport POE that issues it anymore. You can ask at the POE, but it is unlikely it will be granted.

Okay, that's what I've heard, but I thought maybe somebody had first hand experience. But if Rodgers flys into JFK will they question why he flew into there instead of Seattle? Because on our I 129F application one of the questions is what airport will you fly into........so I'm wondering if he will be hassled and questioned???

The 129F had a question about the airport you will fly into? I don't remember that. I remember the question about which consolate, but not about which airport.

There is no question on the I-129f relative to POE at time of arrival on K1 visa. Even if there was, I am highly skeptical that its something that would result in hassling or questioning buy immigrations officers. And if questioning did occur, the answer, "I want a temporary work permit" is a perfectly understandable response.

This process is a killer and makes you think in all sorts of crazy ways and question anyhthing and everything!!! If you survive this without ending up in an insane asylum, you will make it through anything!!!

Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Yeah, I wouldn't worry at all about it! I live in Seattle, and my fiance hasn't decided if he will have his POE here or in New York. There are no direct flights from Bucharest to Seattle. But there are from Bucharest to New York. I can't imagine that anyone would question where he enters the US.

You bring up another good question though - whether it's even worth it or not to get a temporay work permit. I thought for him to not bother...I've heard that employers are a bit nervous to hire someone with a temp permit. And, I may be wrong, but I thought they were only good for 90 days. To get a regular work permit, it can take up to 90 days, so unless you get married the day he arrives, there could be a time gap between whent the temp work permit expires, and when he would receive the regular one. He would have to stop working if the temp permit expired. I figured my fiance could use the 90 days to prepare his resume, look for jobs, etc. Anyone else have any thoughts on the subject?

I remember reading recently about someone who got the stamp at an airport other than JFK (forget where, annoyingly, but it could have been Seattle)... I think the thread was in the Green Card thread

my SO and I discussed whether to deliberately fly through JFK in the hopes of getting the stamp, and in the end we've decided against it... too many variables; we're still not certain I'd get it even then; it expires upon marriage (I think), and I don't intend to work before the wedding anyway, and as someone said above: some employers don't like it anyway... I think I'm just going to sit tight and wait for the 'real' one

already checked out some volunteer agencies in Houston; I'm quite looking forward to it to tell the truth ;)

saving madly now, of course, so I can afford it...

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

The temp EAD does not expire upon marriage, but at the same time as the I-94 stamp in the passport. As others have pointed out trying to coordinate the AOS is the really tricky issue. We aren't bothering with it either.

Since my fiance hasn't had a vacation in a year since he came to see me last Thanksgiving, we've decided we're going to wait on him working. It'll give him time to see what's available after he gets here as well as deciding what he really wants to do. Besides, he can't wait to come and take care of me for a while :) He's a great cook and when I lived in Japan, we shared the work load around the house equally and when he gets here, since I'm already working, he wants to take care of everything!

I live in Seattle, and to my knowledge you cant get a work stamp at the airport..

You have to file at the Social Security office for a work authorization.. I think its about 60-90 days to get it
