Real pseudophedrine (the type the make you sign a book for now in the drug store) is the only thing I have ever found that actually works for cold symptoms. Usually I use actifed.

Yeah.. i enjoy that process as much as a root canal.... in CT they scan your DL and make you sign a statement.. unbelievable.. I try not to use OTC drugs for extended periods of time, so we were thinking this might be a good "gentle" way of getting rid of the symptoms that have been lingering for weeks.

I find it's not good if you already have a cold, but works well if it's in the really early stages.

I have used Airborne several times. When my colleagues start coming to work sick, I start popping the Airborne. I also use it when I'm air traveling - all those enclosed spaces filled with germs! It has helped me to keep the sickness at bay!

It works great. I use all the time traveling, working and what ever. It even helps you fight a cold once you get one. It is great stuff. It was invented by a school teacher.

I currently have the "wailing death" as my husband calls it, which he kindly gave me... I will give this cold fx a go tomorrow and see how it works.

Currently taking sudafed, some sort of fizzy thing and advil. With lozenges for my throat.

Sambucol is also another non-pharmaceutical product that helps. If I start feeling the symptoms of a cold I take sambucol and the symptoms go away. I don't know from personal experience how it works on a full blown cold as I haven't had one since I started taking it (3 years now), but it is supposed to cut the time down by two thirds. You can buy it at good health food stores, General Nutrition Stores and Vitamin stores. It is made from elderberries.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
