That sort of title really does make my stomach drop, as I'm sure it might for others :(

Is there anyone else out there who mailed a 129F, k-3 visa petitition on or around Sept 6, 2007 who hasn't heard a thing (i.e. no NOA1)

From the latest USCIS update, they are still working their way up to you mailing date (even though the USCIS states "other forms" I have a feeling they treat the I129F the same as the I130):-

California Service Center

Form Number Date Received

I-130 8/30/2007

N-400 8/06/2007

All Other Forms 10/16/2007

Unfortunately, there have been reports of people who mailed their petition prior to the listed date who have phoned up USCIS only to be told to wait longer :/

Yep, they received my I-129f on September 25th and still no receipt. Beyond frustrating when I see other people who have sent theirs after me and have gotten their receipt..arrghh

hope you don't have to wait as long as me, but now I see I'm not the only one in this boat: I wonder if it has something to do with the way the envelopes were labelled?

since the processing time clock doesn't start clicking until after the NOA1, it means the original advantage over a IR visa of filing for a k3 visa is slipping away for some of us :crying:

Do you know when they received your package? Because according to USCIS, the clock starts ticking the day they receive your package:

Date Received in Mailroom – USCIS will honor the actual date that an application was received in our mailroom; this date will be indicated on the receipt (in the Received Date box) when Form I-797, Notice of Action, is mailed. You can see a sample Form I-797 under "Related Links" on this page. If your case is affected by the receipt delay, arrival of your receipt may take up to 12 weeks for adjustment-of-status applications and 15 weeks for naturalization and other applications.

according to USPS, they received it on Sept '07 (next day delivery: what was I thinking?)

that's assuming it hasn't slid off someones desk into the trash (trash cams often being stored under desks)

Thats what they say, but for the recent batch of approvals, they appear to have been going by the NOA1 notice date. :(

I'm of the opinion that they won't start honouring the received date until they are actually processing those applications that were affected by the delay. All of ours were prior to the huge increase in petitions and were only affected by their printing problems, so are probably still being approved by their older rules.

I'd say this is there for those people who were waiting one to two months for their NOA1, not those that were waiting about a week.

We were not delayed by a printing issue. Edp333 and I as well as those filing around that time were impacted by the H1B backlog. My Honey and I and a few others were shipped from VSC to CSC because of this backlog created by the need of USCIS to process H1Bs in time for the October arrivals of those visa "winners". Once CSC received the petition, they cashed the check and our NOA1 arrived within days. Granted, we only waited 3-4 weeks for the NOA1, not as bad as others later held up by printing/computer systems issues, fee beater backlog, etc. My Honey and I and other in this position waited really for the petition to arrive at CSC since VSC didn't NOA1 us.
