Thanks...I know.........you are right....

Okay...I figured out how to make it worthwhile for my SO and my family. I will first have a reception dinner for 100. Then I will have a large wedding party with drinks and appetizers for the rest of the people. Yes.... that is what I will do. I can't put my self into debt because of a wedding.

Thanks guys....

That is a smart choice.

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

I anticipate to be getting married in less than a year to the love of my life. I want to have a simple but classy reception. I have a very huge family and guest list. My invite list is around 250. Any ideas on the type of places I can check or call to get a quote? Please post all your ideas. I might not be the only person in need of assistance. Post the name and location of the place. If possible, please copy their website address.

We're renting a hall at a local college for $200 for our wedding that seats 250. We looked at their catering and it's great too. If we went with them it would average us about $16 a person for a full 3 courses, service, and of course the cake. The room for the event was thrown in because of us buying the dinners. We're doing the wedding there, but dinner someplace else, just because my fiance loves seafood and we're getting a deal through a friend. :)

Our Timeline

August 2000 - We meet both working for Habitat for Humanity International, we shared a cubical, passion for the mission and love for each other

2000 - 2006 - We dated and lived in various places near and far from each other

2006 - We decided we should get married

August 2006 - He went home to work on his lifelong passion of HIV/AIDS research

February 2007 - I visited India to meet all the family

June 29, 2007 - Mailed our I-129F

July 6, 2007 - Received our NOA1

November 17, 2007 - Received our NOA2

April 4, 2008 - Interview

May 24, 2008 - Wedding Day

Never thought of having a wedding at a college and now I feel a bit slow because I've worked events at my previous college and people always rented out space. GREAT idea!
