Hey guys

I have a problem

1. Is it a must to send the current proof of employment. I also have a joint sponsor. Meeting the poverty lines guidelines is not a problem.

2. If the sponsor is not working what to send in then

You send proof of income or proof of assets. If no current income, the joint sponsor will need at least 5 times the income requirement in liquid assets and evidence to back it up. If neither, find another sponsor.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

If you are the primary sponsor (primary affidavit of support) and not working. There is no way for you to send a letter of employment.

The joint sponsor needs to send:

1) Copies of personal 1040 and copies of supporting W-2's, 1099's (if applicable) and any other documents used to file the 1040.

OR

2) IRS transcript of filed taxes.

PLEASE READ THE LANGUAGE ON THE INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING LETTER FROM EMPLOYER (page 7, item 23). It specifies, "You MAY include evidence supporting your claim about your expected income if you believe it helps establish evidence of ability to maintain sufficient income...."

Translated....Letter of from employer is OPTIONAL.
