DFW meetup?!?

I would finally have an excuse to go back home !! :) I miss DFW soooo much (and it's really not been that long ;) ) My parents just moved out of state in Sept. (lived in Dallas for 20yrs) so I've been looking for a good excuse to go back soon :P I probably wouldn't sleep the whole weekend trying to cram in all the things I miss

Happy Sunday!

Well, Saturday was indeed an adventure. I gassed up the car about 1pm and hit the road.

Destination: St Louis Missouri

Mission: Suprise everyone at the VJ meetup

Travel Time: 3 hours 47 min (before Rest Areas)

Entertainment: Several newly burnt CD's

I settled in on I55 South and hit the cruise control. Pack of smokes and a bottle of water and I was ready for my journey. I was going to meet more VJ'ers in person! I have a hard time passing up rest areas, so I had to check them all out. I love the French Vanilla coffee from the vending machines.

I get to St Louis (saw the arch!) and I was kinda nervous walking in the restaurant. Everyone was so nice and it was really special to meet people that I have talked with over the years. Thank you Carla and Gene for organizing this meetup.

So, it gets to be time to drive home and as I leave St Louis, I call Amal. We talked, and talked, and soon I had gone 50 miles. Well why hang up now, I have free weekends. We talked for 155 miles til my battery died. Man, did I get sleepy driving that last hour. It sucked. I was all nodding off. I rolled down the windows and changed the CD to Metallica. Nothing like some heavy metal to wake ya up.

That was my big adventure. If you ever get a chance to go to a meetup,,GO!

Jackie (F)

I reckon we need a meet up in Indiana somewhere. There are a few Ohio, Illinois and Indiana VJers and I reckon we are long overdue for a meet up at some point.

Its a big day for Indy and NE fans

Tell me about it, there are blue jerseys all around me.

Oh good! 2 more unsuspecting victims for my grand plan. Muhahahahaha! :) I started a thread about a DFW meetup in OT last night. Im monitoring it to see what sort of response we get. It may wind up having to be pushed off till January with everyone's schedules filling up, but planning ahead never hurt :)

Yep I changed my clock back but I noticed school didn't and neither did downtown. I also noticed it's Veteren's Day on Nov. 12th so I'm hoping I get school off! Am totally fried chicken with all this school work.

I have another documentary to shoot this time in Boise the week of Thanksgiving but I can't go public (as in air it except to the class) with this material because its "sensative nature". I can tell you the material topic is "The Untold Stories of Rape Victims". I have 5 people of different ages and ethnicities who for the first time in years have agreed to tell their stories without naming names and I'm getting them all to sign waivers for the material. Then I also have a crisis counselor and a doctor to interview for the documentary.

For another class there is another production project which I'm not sure I understand the nature of yet. All I know is we have to shoot a video with still photographs in it taken with the camera. Should be interesting and I love the new GL-2's we get to use!

I worked another football game for the video production crew on Saturday. This was Louisianna Tech vs. Idaho. We didn't win. After that game I landed two more Video Production jobs. One is filming a Jazz Holiday concert in Dec, and the other is filming commencement! Am super excited!

Hey Jackie you are rocking the adventureous life! We will we will rock you! That's so awesome girl!

I will back you up Sarah. I do not think we should discuss Christmas until after Thanksgiving. Only one holiday at a time. Some of us can not take it. You can make me a deputy....lol
