Interview at the Embassy

Does anybody know what exactly they do at the interview when the applicant goes in for their interview? what happend there?

I was just wondering, for I-130 (spouse), what are they looking for, what may be the criteria they look for when approving or denying the Visa?? What kinds of questions can one expect so as to ensure succes at interview and sucuring the visa?

Perhaps someone can share their experience esp. in case of denial and why it was denied?

We took copies of everything we sent to the USCIS and the NVC just in case. The embassy had received everything we had sent the NVC already so everything was in order. At the first window they asked him a few questions to make sure they had the correct person and the correct info, then they told him to go to another window to take his fingerprints, and then 2½ hours later the CO called him to his window for the interview (in Bogotá everything is done through windows, you feel like you're at a bank, weird I know). Then the CO asked my husband questions like how and when we met, how many times we had seen each other, if we had met our families, plans for the future, then he requested evidence so my husband handed him pictures (he looked at every single one and we had close to 100), love letters, e-mails, chats, b-day and Christmas cards, notes, boarding passes, etc. He looked at everything and 15 minutes later he said "Congratulations you're approved".

It's a very easy and smooth process if you have everything in order and have nothing to hide. I also chose to go to the interview with him and was ready to answer anything they may ask. The CO saw me, asked my husband if I was his wife and never asked me to approach the window, he was satisfied with what he saw.

I thought they did not allow spouses to come to interview anymore?
