On a bit of a tangent....was listening to an interview on the radio of a man whose mother had planned for years to take her own life when she felt she was losing grip on life. She hated hospitals. She read the book, Final Exit, went to two different doctors and lied to them that she had trouble sleeping. Even her own brother tried to talk her out of the idea, but she finally went through with her plan. Even though her grown son had known for years, his mother's idea of controlling when she would die, when he found her lying on her bed with a plastic bag over her head, it really shook him up.

As scary as dying is to me, I just hope I will find the courage to face it as it comes, with all the suffering it entails. I think there is something to be learned from it...something necessary.
