Hi everyone,

1.

I got married in 07/08/2007. That is the date in the wedding invitations.

In the marriage certificate, it says " the marriage certificate becomes valid from the date when we both signed the certificate".

and we actually signed the marriage certificate in 07/09/2007.

So which one is our date of marriage ?

2.

for the evidence of our relationship, we got some letters. But they are not in English. Should I get them translated or keep them original?

Thanks,

#1. It will be the date on the Marriage Certificate.

#2. You can bring them, even without translations. Only legal or civil documents are the ones with translation.

Here are other proofs you can start gathering:

*Six or more personal photos with the primary applicant and petitioner (and spouse and children if they are applying) taken over a period of time;

*also include a copy of the petitioner’s US passport or Permanent Resident Card

*Personal correspondence, home telephone records or financial records showing ongoing relationship

*Proof of joint property ownership, joint financial obligations or remittances from the petitioner

*Baptismal records, medical records, school records and year books with photos, old and current professional ID’s

*All old passports

*Any other evidence you feel might be helpful

07/09/2007 is ur marrige date and you need to traslate the letters.

The later date is your marriage date. Perhaps the earlier one is you "wedding date". In our case we married one day and had a wedding the next.

I would skip the letters at petition filing. For newlyweds who have never even lived together in the same country, there is no evidence any bona fide relationship evidence is required at filing. You can bring any copies of letter or other communication in any language for the interview.

If your letters are "sworn affidavits" as described in the I-130 instructions and you wish to include them, then yes, they must be in English or certified translations.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Thank you very much for your help.

Now I am filing the G-325A form. Around the bottom of the page. They have something like this:

This form is summited in connection with an application for:

Option 1 : Naturalization

Option 2 : Status as Permanent Resident

Option 3: Other ( Specify)

I believe that I should choose the option 3, but what should I write the box? "CR1/IR1 Visa" ?

thanks
