though how exactly that would assist in getting MORE petitions approved escapes me just at present...

basically they all have more work than they can handle... and that makes me IMMENSELY sympathetic to the workers on the ground, who are probably being driven slowly and steadily mad by it all, but the supervisors need to hire some more staff, it's as simple as that

Agreed, I'm sympathetic too. Although if I remember correctly they DID just hire a whole bunch of new employees, didn't they? Honestly I'm just completely at a loss to explain what's happened. Before the holidays CSC were setting the pace, and the rate they were cranking out approvals was getting to be pretty impressive. Now all of a sudden it's like the lights are out and they're out picketing with the writers or something. Meanwhile VSC are starting to take a healthy bite out of the September filers and have even approved at least one October filer. Just what the heck is going on? (he asked rhetorically...)

I know - it is dire... Ok - for what it is worth I am going for 33 approvals (sticking to it - why be negative?!) - the rest of the July bunch will be done and we will start to see August filers coming through for CSC Not going to bother being too specific as doesn't seem to work although will be adding babblesgirl and CBR to my named list

Since the total number of August and September filers combined is roughly the total of all July filers, and most July filers were processed in a month, seems to me that we should be able to expect a large number of August filers this week, and maybe even a small number of Sept filers either this week or certainly next. This is based on my (hopeful) theory that CSC really were hard at work last week and were just not updating the case online system. If they really weren't processing apps, then all bets are off.

You know you could have a point with your speculation about cases not being updated online. Maybe, we're going to see a massive amount of approvals this week - simply because they may well have approved a good number of people in the last week or so but nobody is aware of it. If that's the case, then your estimate on August petitions being complete should be bang on. let's hope so eh? I know us July stragglers are only slowing you down

Actually, you've inspired me. I'm changing my bet to 86. That's the total number of August filers. Laugh now, but when I'm teaching that parrot how to curse in Russian, we'll see who's laughing then!
