Hey all, some amazing news. I got home today and my biometrics appointment was in the mail. Woooooooooo. Next Tuesday April 18th.

The odd thing is that it's through Providence, RI and not Boston,MA even though we live in Mass.

I know everyone asks, but can I maybe maybe hope that I may get my EAD before the 90 days?? This is only day 18 and I would hate to wait over 70 more to see an approval. What do you all think?

Also, what about this Providence, even though it's a different state. Both DO's are the same distance. Boston does seem to be pretty slow too, is it possible we've been transferred to RI? They are moving along faster so wooooooo.

Also things to bring with me are:

NOAs for all (EAD, AP, AOS)

Marriage certificate -the certified one

My Canadian Passport

My Canadian Drivers License

My SSN card

Anything else?? Or anyone else here going through Providence??

Thanks and woooooooooooooooooooo

That's weird. Boston is supposed to serve all of MA, while Providence should serve all of RI, according to USCIS website. There shouldn't be crossing.

I'm not sure of how, but I try to check and make sure they didn't make a mistake. You wouldn't want anything to be delayed.

Good luck!

Well I'll go and get them to take my prints for EAD and AOS, then I'll question it. They all go into the same system so if I can get them in sooner than later then that's good for me.

Also, do you still get an NOA2 for EAD??? Would they still FRE you after you've already done biomtrics?? I'm a little confused as to where in the process of your case the biometrics come into play. Has anyone even cracked open our case??

Just curious.

The biometrics are handled on a local level where as the applications themselves are handled on a national level before the file is transferred for interview. It is entirely possible to have an RFE after the biometrics because of this. Although hopefully you will not have one and wont have to worry about any delays because of this.

Regarding the office location, perhaps Providence is taking some of Boston's biometric load as they might be quieter? I dont know if that is the way it is done, but would seem reasonable to me if they had openings to take some of the MA cases.

Will you get the EAD before the 90 days? Who knows!! That's USCIS for you.

Wishing you the best of luck for a speedy approval though.

Thanks, I'm really anxious to get working, as I am sure everyone else is. I don't really think I'll feel moved and married until I have a normal routine that involves going to a job every day.

not to mention I have an employer holding a position for me. So, this would be wonderful.

Fingers crossed!

Umm no..

Your interview will be at the DO that has jurisdictoion over your place of residence.. Boston has jurisdiction over all of MA, so your interview ill be there...

ASC's cover a completely different geographical area... technically you could go to any ASC in the US if you wanted to...

ASC (application support center) and DO (district office) are not the same thing. Sometimes they are co-located but they serve different functions. The fact that you have biometrics in RI does not really mean much -- don't get stressed over it.

09-02-2005 Applications for AOS, EAD, and AP received by MSC

10-21-2005 AOS fingerprint notice for 12-08-2005

11-07-2005 AP approved

12-05-2005 Infopass appt at San Jose office for interim EAD -- Refused, because it is already approved by MSC on 11-07-2005

12-07-2005 Attempt at interim EAD at San Francisco office -- no go. Back to San Jose, where CSO (chief station officer) tells they will contact MSC via email to request permission to issue interim EAD

12-08-2005 Biometrics for AOS and EAD. Having no EAD appt letter was no problem (used EAD NOA)

12-15-2005 EAD arrived in the mail

12-24-2005 Received interview letter; interview scheduled 03-01-2006

01-28-2006 Received replacement SSN card in married name (5 wks since application)

03-01-2006 AOS interview -- approved; received stamp in the passport

03-13-2006 Green card arrived in the mail

Yeah I was wondering how the biometrics plays into the timeline too. John got his biometrics appt. right away and I have heard that the EAD is basically approved when they give you the biometrics appt. . But it has been over two weeks and nothing has changed with the online status and we have not received anything. But you can't count on the online status updating and who knows what they are doing at the service center.............. so i guess we just hope for the best and expect the worse. His employer is also holding his job for him so we are pretty antsy. Let's keep out fingers crossed
