They really have a great package. We live in an apt. so the dish isn't an option right now. We have Comcast and they do have one Arabic channel (MBN). It's not the best but it's better than nothing. Moh is so wrapped up in the Military and Science channels that he doesn't miss having Arabic channels.

We have dish network with all the arabic channels and hubby loves it

Agreed - I asked Youssef about ART and he said it wasn't worth it. But our Egyptian babysitter has it on all the time! He said if he can't get 2M he doesn't really care about watching Arabic TV.

ART is a pretty good channel but it's kinda limited. Have you thought about getting Dish Network? They have an Arabic language channel package that offers several stations. Or you can do what KyanWan suggested and get the Arab satellite that you only pay the one time fee (usually $200-$300). It has several Arab language channels from several MENA countries. Our friends have that and the Dish Network.

It's more than just a few. I saw it in action at someone's house around here ... wow, it made the dish network package look like chump change. It was more or less - the same lineup you see in peoples houses over in Jordan. *All* of the Arabic-language sat channels that you can get from (whatever one you're using at the moment.)

Plus, you can grab any channels you like from wherever - ( ex: cable channels & channels you normally would NOT be able to receive.)

I *think* you also have the same decode options as you do with Dish (eg: pay for a smartcard & get decodes like HBO & Starz).

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )
