:luv: The holidays is quickly coming close and a lot of us who haven't received our NOA2's and/or Interviews are getting weary. My goal is to collect and keep a thread filled with warmth and love. A place where we can come and be reminded of the reason why were are remaining so strong during this process....keeping our focused on the end result. Uniting with eternal our love forever.....

Love is amazing....

My SO proposed to me in a hotel room in Nigeria. He asked to have a word with me privately in our suite. I agreed and met him there. He asked me to tell him how I felt about him? What did I think of him? I began to laugh and giggle because I thought that he was just fooling around. I told him that I thought that he was "okay!". He said, "just okay?" He began to tell me that he did not just think or feel just "okay" about me and delivered the most beautiful speech ever. His eyes were so clear and his demeanor something very different than his personality. As he began the speech, he got on one knee and revealed the ring. I was shocked, amazed and in disbelief. Is this really the moment? Is this really happening? Wow!

 Shamefully, I forgot some of the beautiful words he said to me because I was so thrilled about being the woman that he decided to spend the rest of his life with  . I was the lucky woman :star: . When he slipped the ring on....we prayed together and celebrated the joyous occasion.

I am proud and confident to say that there is no better match for him or me other than ourselves. I will love him forever, even when our spirits departs from our bodies. Today, Tomorrow and Forever!

We were in Stirling Scotland and visiting the William Wallace monulent (the Braveheart guy). We hiked up the hill to the monument, then climbed the 246 steps to the top of the monument. When we arrived at the top, we were out of breath and the only two there. He said, "well, I better do this before I have a heart attack!'' And with that, he got down on one knee and asked to marry him. It was lovely and funny!! I felt literally on top of the world!

Here's our story :luv:

Before I went to Ghana for vacation I had been telling Inusah about how long it had been since I had been to the beach. So I insisted that no matter what he wanted to do while I was there we had to fit in an afternoon at the beach.

So, we spent the afternoon at the beach with 3 of his friends (a couple and another friend). We just hung out talking and stuff. Come dinner time we went to this beautiful restaurant at a resort that is right on the beach. We were sitting outside watching the waves hit the rocks *sigh* it was gorgeoous. When we were done eating the boys started talking among themselves saying how great it was that they were able to get together after such a long time and that they needed to do something to commemorate the occassion. They started throwing out stupid ideas (like jumping into the ocean  ). All of a sudden Inusah scoots bck his chair and gets down on one knee and gives this long absoluely beautiful speech about how he wants me to spend the rest of my life with him and how it would make him so happy. And then his friends all chimed in and asked to his behalf, saying that they have never seen him so happy and that I should consider his proposal.

Needless to say I was speechless. I don't really remember if I actually said anything. And then he pulled out the ring and put it on my finger

BTW, my profile picture is from that day.

.....that's a lovely idea for a thread!

Mitch proposed to me in Shenandoah National Park under a sky full of stars and the Milky Way.

We were driving down the Skyline Drive in a convertible with the top down at a warm night, when he pulled over and pulled out a ring.....it was one of the most beautiful and romantic moments in my life, and my "yes" came from the bottom of my heart! We both had to cry, and all I could think of was that I want to make this man happy for the rest of our life.... (L)

The next day we went hiking in the forest and ran into .....a black bear, who was climbing up a tree!!!

While I was freaking out Mitch was looking for his camera to take some snap shots, can you guys imagine that???

I had a hard time in dragging his butt away from that sight, he acted as if it was a little harmless raccoon, and he even had the nerve to tell me with a grin that Mr Bear wouldn't attack me as long as I don't attack him !?!

Well, finally we left ( in a hurry, because of me), and after that he started teasing me, like:

"...the one day she got a proposal, the next day she was killed by a black bear."

...and I still have to listen to that!

ha ha ha....

I took my fiancée out to a park where I enjoy hiking often. The destination was a certain quiet, scenic spot in the woods next to a river, got on one knee, gave her a mini-speech about how I'm glad such an important decision (who to spend my life with) was so easy. Pulled out the ring, and asked her to marry me.

Now looking at some of the other posts on this thread, mine seems pretty lame in comparison!! ;) Still special, though. I can't wait to spend life with her.

Cheers!

My fiance and I really don't have an engagement story :( .

This is what basically happened...

One day during my 3-month stay in Ghana, after several days of deep conversations about how our relationship was going, why we loved each other, why we were good for each other, why we thought God brought us together, and where our relationship was going....my fiance told me that he believes that I would make a perfect wife for him and in return I told him that I believed he would make a good husband, big head and all :D.

We just kind of fell into a conversation about how we were going to begin the process of living our lives together...

This conversation was very special to me because up till that day I was under the impression that my fiance loved me, but not to the degree of abandoning his plans of attending one of the universities in Australia that he was accepted to. Weeks before we had visited the satellite office in Accra for the school he was accepted to. He filled out paperwork and I was sure that he was going off to Australia a few months down the line (he takes his education very seriously and didn't consider school in the US because it is too expensive).

Sooooo, when he told me that he wanted to marry me, as a result putting off continuing his education for a while, I was shocked and happy at the same time that he loved me that much! Of course he is taking some accounting courses in the mean time so his brain doesn't become "lazy". I tell him all the time that maybe God gave him a big head to hold in all those statistics and mathematic concepts

So thats my "not much of a proposal" story :P

Cute thread!

My husband had told me early in our relationship he wasn't really thinking about marriage - that what we had was fun and all but marriage hadn't crossed his mind.

Then he waffled a couple of months later and said he was starting to think he might like to get married.

So we sort of left things like that. He came to visit me and after he'd been here about three days, we took everybody out of town for a little shopping trip. The kids had gone on in the mall, and we were sitting in the car just talking. I don't really remember the conversation but there was something very emotional going on - maybe our online relationship was becoming very real and the intensity was knocking us over - I don't know. But I remember blurting out "I'm asking you to marry me."

He just looked at me kind of stunned and didn't answer.

Two days later, back at my house, we were doing something together on my computer. I had gone out of the room for something and when I came back, he pulled me close to him and sat me down in his lap. He kissed me, then looked me straight in the eyes and said "Yes, I will marry you".

So that's how it goes with a confirmed bachelor and a single mom.
