Sad, very sad :( I remember when the military coup happened. My friends from Pakistan were frantic, trying to get ahold of relatives over there...

Nothing will happen to affect your visa process. Marshall Law is a normal occurance in PK.

I hope this doesn't turn into a political forum! As far as I know (from what I've heard from other govt. workers) so long as the embassy stays open they will continue to work on cases.....it is possible there will be delays with people getting police reports and such, but I'm told that's most likely it unless people start to strike (curier services, etc.). Again all this is just simply from what I've been told from people working in the govt. I am also in the process with my husband. My prayers are with everyone over there...but SO FAR it's not as bad as it could be.

No no..I didnt plan to make this a political forum..I just wanted to know what effects could this Mini Marshall Law in Pakistan have on our immigration process. I have just filed in Packet 3.5 Docs and it was a pain no doubt to get the police cert made...I cant imagine how tough it will be now for ppl to make it after all this.

I really hope your govt connections are correct abt the information. Obviously we'll have to call the embassy on monday to confirm. CR1 is already such a long tiring visa....it would be a killer if there are further delays to it.

No no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean you...I meant some of the replies...people are already stressed out on here, getting all emotional about that would be interrupting (my opinion). I'm glad you asked the question....and trust me, my contacts could be wrong...I don't know anyone toooo conected or I'd be getting some help!! I know this process sucks...and the way they do it is soooo stupid! I just found out the packet 3.5 asks for stuff THEY ALREADY HAVE! Plus, they tell you that when your stuff goes over there you recieve your letter for your interview which will be about 30 days from the letter WAY OFF! I hate that they purposefully mislead us! All the best!
