I just got my NOA2 and now I'm desperate for NVC number......this whole process seems once you finish waiting for one thing you have another thing to wait for.......

oh well....keep the faith I guess

On average, it has been taking about 3 weeks from NOA2 to NVC. Good luck!

I just called NVC and talked to an officer. He informed me that they received our petition and it has been forwarded to US Embassy in Manila. I asked if we had a case number and he said that Manila would assign us a case number. Doesn't NVC assign the case number??? Is he telling me the truth?

I always thought that NVC assigned a case number before they forward it to the Foreign Embassy. Not sure about this one. You may want to call again to confirm with a diffferent operator.

That is what I was thinking too....I will call NVC again on Monday, and see if another operator tells the same story.. :D

My fiance called NVC yesterday saying they received our file on the 13th Nov and will be forwarding our case through to Sydney in (I'm assuming) five working days. Then they said that it should take 2 more weeks there and then we should get our letter.

They provided my fiance with our new case number.

Getting excited now!

Trying to navigate this maze and could use some help, encouragement, advice, etc.

I submitted our application to Texas in late June and received canceled check in July. Some questions...

1. I never received a hard copy (that's the NOA1?), but called the customer service folks and they told me how to find the receipt number on the canceled check, which I did. Shows it was received JULY 2nd and sent to CSC for processing. I still never have received hard copies of anything in the mail -- will I need anything or is the ability to track progress online enough?

2. Is there anything we should be doing while we wait for notification of approval of the application?

3. Beginning with the end in mind ... with a JULY 2nd receipt date and clean records for both myself and my fiancee (we met July 2006 and I've been there 7 times) when would you guess she'll finally receive her Visa?

Thanks from this Texas rookie.

Good luck to all.

I am sure your approval is coming soon. I think the most important thing to do at this point is to try to hold onto your sanity. This is a very hard wait that has been very hard on my health and relationship with my fiancé. We are making it through it. Also too it is probably a good time to get police background check done and birth certificates too. I am organizing all the paperwork I have but not going to go overboard on proof of ongoing relationship. I will bring pictures and most of the many cards she has sent me and of course phone bills. Thank god for the internet though because my bills aren't too high anymore because we use skype.

Good luck and God bless.

Tim

I would have to agree with Tim considering your sanity. All of the waiting involved can be very frustrating. I would also recommend these pages for information for estimating the time involved.
