salam to u all....

me n my husband decided to turn in both the i-130 and the i-129 as i read here several times that its new rule and ppl here did try it and everything went well.... well what happened with us was that they sent us back the 129 and kept the 130 so im guessing that rule doesnt apply to NVC or something....i think now i just have to wait for the receipt.....but i want to reassure myself that everything is still ok and that nothing went wrong... plz i wd appreciate any help:D..thnx..

A timeline would help. Who kept the one petition and returned the other? Did you have an interview?

no i didnt have an interview at all.. im way ahead of that point..... my husband is the one who sent the papers and the one who receieved the 129 back...

so why was it sent back??

ahead of the interview and just submitting I-130 and I-129??? some thing here doesnt compute.

If your husband is already here in the US, no need to submit the I-129....you need to submit the

I-485 for adjustment of status.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

I think by "ahead of the interview" she meant before the interview. I think she's attempted to file for the K-3.

And I think her husband is the USC? I think they've just started the K-3 process and filed both forms at the same time? A timeline would be helpful.

I'm the USC.

11/05/2007........Conditional permanent residency effective date.

01/10/2008........Two-year green card in hand.

08/08/2009........Our son was born <3

08/08/2009........Filed for removal of conditions.

12/16/2009........ROC was approved.

11/05/2010........Eligible for Naturalization.

03/01/2011........Separated.

11/05/2012........Eligible for Naturalization.

Too late to edit...

A revised or corrected timeline would be helpful because your timeline is giving an error message, meaning it received unexpected or not enough information. I think you were supposed to wait before sending the I-129F for a K-3, but someone else needs to explain that. Also, you mentioned K-1 in the past so it's a little confusing.

Did he get an NOA1 notice for the 129 and the 130 or just the 130? Ask him that question. I have heard of some people who did submit both at the same time and getting NOA1's for both in an attempt to shorten up the time but maybe USCIS caught on to that little trick and is now not accepting it. Makes sense though since all you need for the 129 is proof of submission of the 130 and what better proof then the actual form itself.

See what NOA1's he got and once he got them he can check online to see what the status is.

04/26/07 - Packet 3 received

06/16/07 - Medical Examination

First the I-130 gets sent in

after he gets a reciept he can send in the I-129

after the I-129 is aproved it will go to Cairo

Then you will get a packet for the K-3

And a interview

So every thing will be just fine. He just needs to wait for the receipt. Good luck on your journey

You can send them both at the same time to the Chicago lockbox, as per the instructions.

She needs to explain why the I-129 was returned.

The do not send them back without a reason and an explanation.

I129F?

Ha?

I point at my timeline and say, I129F - again - Ha? I've heard I129F's are terrible lately. If you're already married, take the I129f, fold it into a paper airplane, and toss it out the window towards your garbage can/dumpster outside. Points for you if you get it in there.

I should have listened before, to not even bother with I129F.

[edit: Well, I paid to file the form *before* the fee change to free-for-spouses/K3. That adds to my not-liking-I129F. If you're filing for spouse, go I130 and that's it.]

The moral of my story: Stick with someone who matches your own culture.

( This coming from an Arab who married an Arab from overseas... go figure. )
