Cassie, we had trunk or treat at some churches here too. I think it's a great idea.

It works really well -- car trunks full of candy, all in one place??? It's a kid's dream come true!!

Our church have reopened the community centre in our neck of the woods (It had problems in years past with gangs / drugs / etc) and this was our way of saying "hey, this is going to be a safe place again for your kids to play and hang out". :)

No trick or treaters (we live in an apartment)

No candy bought (see above)

None left over to eat

Glad to have gotten through the whole run up to Halloween, Halloween day, and post-Halloween sugar craze by only eating one bite-sized chocolate bar!!! YAY me!

I left the lights on and the blind open and stuck cardboard pumpkins in the window to show that we were home, and we sat out in the livingroom watching tv and waiting for kids... but nobody came to the door at all :( Last year we had half a dozen... shame - I don't even care what age they are - I'll happily give candy to adults on a holiday! One of the reasons I don't like living in an apartment building.

About ten groups of kids came to our door. When it started winding down, I started letting the kids take as much as they wanted and we were only left with boxes of raisins and maybe a few pieces of chocolate. I put the raisins in French toast and the few pieces of chocolate left I split with my husband. I never buy over two bags of candy and so "leftover candy" is not a problem in our house.

Raisins! How dare you!

My mom bought small packs of pretzels to give out with some candy. Pretzels! My dad asked what's wrong with her. She's trying to be healthy, so everyone suffers.
