What do you guys think of older trick'or treaters? I got a few that were at least 16 or 17 years old, kinda weird IMO.

Yes - we had a few of those too. My 12-year old wanted to go with one of her friends.. it's more social than it is candy-grabbing. My 15-year-old stayed home and answered the door for the first year ever.

I think 12 is fine. I think once you get past the age of 13, especially if you look mature, it tends to be kinda weird.

My daughter went last year (she was 15) but only because her step-sister was visiting from Germany and had never been trick-or-treating... (she was 17)... it was fun for them.

I agree tho, as a rule, 13 is prob the max age...

Yeah especially when they show up with a pillowcase and no costume!

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

 Come on, not for the kiddos? :)

Nope. I do not care to take part in it. I think it evokes bad spirits.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

We are very much prepared for the trick and treaters to show up . We turn on all the lights at the front door and garage, lit the jack-o-lantern, a small bag full of candies and chocolate are ready to hand them but no one coming. :( . Robin and I are so excited and really looking forward to have them in our front door.Oh well.. :(

Now we have so many candies and chocolates , I think it takes a month before we finish eating them.

1) We weren't home so we didn't get to see how many actually stopped by our door.

2) None, we didn't buy in the first place because we know we won't be home & travelling.

3) If we did have leftovers, I'll give them away

well Olga and I were prepared but that night SHE wanted to visit a "haunted house" so we returned home late, mostly because the HH started late :protest: ...all the while I kept telling her this kiddies were making Puss'n'boots faces (from Shrek), asking where the candy was! She really enjoyed her first American Halloween, we bought all kinds of stuff for decorating the apartment and stuff for our (hopefully) new house next year, gotta love the after holiday discounts, we bought about $60 (at half price!) worth of decorations and supplies for next year!

We also bought our first Christmas lights for this year! =)

we are in the process of eating the candies (handfuls at a time) we bought like 6 bags! from Kitkats, butterfingers to gummie eyeballs! Yummy!

Marc

case you didn't notice, I kinda wanted to visit the haunted house. Twice we went to Old Tucson Studios for their halloween event, about the only time that place gets any business now

We went and volunteered at a "trunk or Treat" party sponsored by our church, so we weren't home.

The party however, had about 600 people there.

And we (Jerry and I) bought about $75 worth of candy to donate to the cause.

We got home, turned off most of the lights, and still had a couple people bang on our door. We didn't answer. ;)

Cassie, we had trunk or treat at some churches here too. I think it's a great idea.

We only had about 6 doorbell rings. Sometimes there were 2-3 kids and sometimes just one kid. I remembered last year we didn't have a lot either so I only bought a bag of starburst and a bag of those individual small size wrapped peanut M&Ms, but we still had a lot left which was good by me! Yum.
