When interview is not approved

Husband and I had our aos interview back in Sep. 2005.

Interviewer asked me my name and my birthdate. He asked my husband his name and his birth date. Then he told us that every thing was ok. He got my son's fingerprint and signature in a little card. Same with mine. We were told that we were going to hear from them within a month or two, to stamp our passport.

Seven months have passed and nothing from them. We called, they told us nothing. We set an infopass twice, they told us nothing. Last time I asked to speak with a supervisor, supervisor told me I have no rights to know anything. "The process is pending" is all they have told us.

If we had not been "approved", would we be told? Or should I count on getting some deportation notice sometime in the future, with no further information?

You should contact your congressman, tell what happened and ask for help. Congressmen are really good at such things, they can find out information about your case and tell you what's going on. Good luck :)

Sounds like its time for an info pass. Good luck

They went for infopass twice already and it didn't help, no point to do that again.

My husband has written to his useless congressman. He wrote back saying that USCIS is backlogged and that he can't and does not want to do anything about it.

We had an infopass YESTERDAY. DAMMED OFFICERS TOLD US NOTHING. I demanded to speak with the supervisor. SHE TOLD US NOTHING.

I understand what u r passing through.

My interview was pretty much like urs. However, they never lost my document. They asked for RFEs and i sent them well in time.

Since last december, i m in same jeopardy. every day s like hell, u don't know what they r goin to do.

I know beaurocracy sucks and i have tried to through senator and congressman, senator responded by saying, ur case will be considered in the law and dam congressman, never replied, inspite of calling several times.

Of course, we need justice in law, but where s the law?

In the hands of bunch of beaurocrates.

I agree. We had our interview last September. USCIS still haven't told us anything. When our Congressman wrote USCIS they responded saying other federal agencies were conducting a background check. I have no idea why USCIS coulndn't tell us that. We're still waiting but at least we know why.

Oh man, I am sorry to hear about this.

I agree, write to Laura Bush. I have heard that helps.

I think "security check" is but an excuse. The interviewer told me that my name check had come back. My son is younger than 14. I have lived in the US for the last 10 years. All the checks would be done here.

Other people I know get their stamps one to two months after interview.

I even don't know, whats wrong with my case.

I wrote letters to senator and congressman's office. I got a reply from senator's office, but congressman. looks like working very hard to find out.

I don't know, my back ground checks have completed or not?

can i contact fbi through some number to find out if my name check s clear?
